A Hamline University law professor has been placed on probation for two years for failing to file state tax returns for 2004 through 2007. Ramsey County Judge Salvador Rosas also sentenced 48-year-old Robin Magee of St. Paul on Friday to 80 hours of community service and a $300 fine.

A Christian church-affiliated university in St. Paul, Minn., has suspended a student after he raised questions about the campus ban on concealed weapons, and is ordering him to have a mental health evaluation before he can resume his education. Hamline University's Student Congress will vote today on a resolution asking university administrators to ban U.S. military recruiters on the campus because the military discriminates against gays. "I think we're probably going to pass it," said Graham Lampa, a 21-year-old Brainerd, Minn., senior who authored the resolution at the St. Paul university. "If we are going to allow recruiters onto our campus, we want to make sure they are willing to take any of our students, not just the white students or the straight students or the rich students," Lampa said.
