A 26-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested Sunday after police say he sexually battered a woman in Irvine last month. Rafael Cortez was at a storage facility at 17 Shield in Irvine on June 25 when the alleged battery took place, the Irvine Police Department said in a news release. Cortez was exiting an elevator when a woman got on, then he re-entered the elevator, police said in a news release.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — People on hand for a news conference at the South Carolina statehouse got quite a surprise after a woman showed up half-naked. The incident was caught on camera. Officials were in Columbia to promote the state’s zero tolerance litter campaign when the woman walked up wearing a bra, underwear and shoes. Officers quickly took the 42-year-old woman into custody. She is charged with disorderly conduct. There is still no word on the reason behind her half-naked frolic.
