  • Judge Issues Temporary Restraining Order Against New York’s New Gun Controls

    10/06/2022 2:02:06 PM PDT · by matt04 · 20 replies
On Thursday U.S. District Judge Glenn T. Suddaby issued a temporary restraining order against portions of New York’s newest gun controls, including the requirement that concealed carry permit applicants have their social media scoured. The decision centered on the Concealed Carry Improvement Act (CCIA), which New York Democrats passed and Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) signed in response to the Supreme Court of the United States’ NYSRPA v. Bruen ruling (2022). ... Judge Suddaby issued a temporary restraining order against the character test, ruling against: . . . the provisions contained in Section 1 of the CCIA requiring “good moral character”...
  • A Good Guy With a Gun Put an End to Texas Church Shooting

While many liberals have been quick to call for gun control in the wake of the devastating church shooting in Texas on Sunday, in the hands of a ‘good guy’ a gun is what finally put an end to the massacre. Devin Kelley, a 26-year-old veteran who was kicked out of the Air Force for assaulting his wife and child, entered the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, at approximately 11:30 a.m. He killed 26 people making it the deadliest shooting in a place of worship in America. The death toll could’ve been much higher, however, had he not...

The Mayors Against Illegal Guns website appears to have permanently removed the list of mayors who are coalition members and appears to have replaced it with an “About” page that evidently went live Monday. That page features a scrolling list of member cities with one noticeable absence: MAIG's and Michael Bloomberg’s flagship New York City.
  • Bullard Refiles Bill To Change Stand Your Ground, Says It Goes Further Than ‘Tweak’

That’s why Bullard says he refiled a bill that aims to, in his words, “tie up any loose ends that most Floridians are concerned about.” That includes explicitly defining that an aggressor is someone engaged in an overt act of violence, such as brandishing a weapon… “...but, it would also again switch up that aggressor language so that one could not be provoked and then upon provocation, choose to defend themselves. And, then the person who did the provoking is able to use deadly force—that little loophole is what led to the unfortunate acquittal of George Zimmerman,” he added. The...

Found this via an anti-gun group which links to the Soros puppet media 'Think Progress'.  The study, by Professor Michael Siegel at Boston University and two coauthors, has been peer-reviewed and is forthcoming in the American Journal of Public Health. Siegel and his colleagues compiled data on firearm homicides from all 50 states from 1981-2010, the longest stretch of time ever studied in this fashion, and set about seeing whether they could find any relationship between changes in gun ownership and murder using guns over time. Note the adjectives,  'two coauthors'... and 'colleagues'.... Interesting terminology, don't you think?  Let's take...

In Colorado there's a calling to vote Yes to recall anti-gun state senators - John Morse (D-11) and Angela Giron (D-3). These two can create a “a wave of fear that runs across every state legislator across the country.” To counter this recall, Gun control group headed by Mark Kelly & Gabby Giffords have television ads running to urge Coloradan to vote "NO" on the recall. westernshootingjournal.com/second-amendment/anti-gun-groups-mobilizing-in-colorado/

Does It Take Another Civil War? Politics / US PoliticsJan 20, 2013 - 02:31 PM By: Michael T Bucci To think that twenty young children massacred in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14 would become catalysts to accelerate the continuing disintegration of American society was unconscionable on December 14th - and it remains unconscionable. While the nation fell into shock followed by grief, many wrote on the web, "Obama's gonna take away guns!" The narcissism of "2nd Amen" cultists is without boundaries it appears; to wit: the NRA rallies. The goal to divert attention away from those child victims of guns...

This is the age of science, after all. Reason has finally liberated us from the tyranny of superstition. We no are no longer forced to cling bitterly to guns and religion. It is the golden age of rationality. Even the President, that paragon of Spockian logic himself, has told us, through his Secretary of re-Education, Arne Duncan, "Reasonable people should be able to agree on these restrictions…" (Translation: Opposition to gun control is irrational.) So let's be reasonable. Let's be rational. In fact, let's be completely scientific. Let's conduct an experiment. As we all know, scientific inquiry is completely devoid...

I got an angry e-mail from a Montana friend, ranting about "crazy" politicians looking "to increase crime" and worried about the future of the US constitution over an item posted on Change.gov, Obama's transition website that includes, among press releases, blog posts and job notices, extensive policy statements outlining the next administration's agenda. The policy statement that set my friend off was this, under "urban policy": Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to...

This drug suppresses Johnny’s interest in the arts.” *** But Johnny’s penalty is not complete. The institution’s weapon policy he did not meet. Alternately criticized and praised for being an ally of gun owners, U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft now has authority over the firearms issues previously managed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. (The agency was renamed the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on Jan. 24, 2003.) Anti-gun activists fear Ashcroft, in his added role, will be a weak enforcer of firearms laws while some libertarians worry that the attorney general will have too much power and might abuse it. Since its inception over 200 years ago, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has been...

Yet somehow, people now consider guns to be a liability issue, to be dangerous, and flat out wrong. So what do people want to do? They want to take away the guns that we are granted...
