WASHINGTON - - New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, who argues her pro-gun stance aims to protect hunters' rights and the Second Amendment, last week said she and her husband, Jonathan, keep two rifles under their bed to protect their upstate home.
Gillibrand said neither she nor her husband is a hunter, and in a general discussion of gun control said, "If I want to protect my family, if I want to have a weapon in the home, that should be my right."
The mother of two young children has taken "gun safety procedures to ensure family safety," an aide later said, but declined to say what steps.
Gillibrand's guns are rifles, her chief of staff Jess Fassler said in an e-mail, and she won one of them in a raffle at a county fair while campaigning. He said New York does not require anyone to register rifles
*snip*
It drew headshaking from Paul Helmke, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, who expressed concern about storing guns under beds, where children can find them and where burglars typically look first.

She's the new Senator from New York, taking the place of Hilliary Rodman Clinton.
Once her party implements its agenda, she’ll probably need more guns than that under her bed.
Kinda like Feinstein, who has an AK47 and other armaments.
She once swept a room with her AK with her finger on the trigger.
What’s the percentage of current Senators that were appointed? Is it a record?
My Lord, it must be!
Light weight. ;-)
Let her try that in DC!
What does it matter? When the voters votes actually count, they keep electing the same tools each time!
Heh heh LOL
Her husband looks like Martin Short as the wedding planner in Father of the Bride.
The 2d Amendment is linked to the 1st, and please note they are 1-2 in The Bill of Rights.
The 1st Amendment protects you when you shoot your mouth off in political speech.
The 2d Amendment protects your right to keep and bear arms so you can shoot anyone who who is trying to shoot you for shooting your mouth off in political speech.
In the meantime, if you wish to blow away Bambi and Donald Duck, be my guest. But the 2d amendment has nothing to do with hunting. It concerns protecting our freedom from oppressors, foreign and domestic.
There now, got it fixed - for now....
For home protection, shouldn’t they be using shotguns instead?
Always good to let the burglars know that you do in fact keep weapons and where you keep them.
Better to keep one or two handguns someplace secret.
And now the thieves and burglars will know where to look to get their guns and turn them on their owners.
Her democrat liberal handlers will give her a ration of what-for because of that statement.
She is a democrat that has guns for protection of herself and family/home, that's a no-no in those circles.
It's good for us to know, though.
yeah, under the rack does a hell of a lot of good when you are startled out of sleep by the goblins already standing over your bed with evil intent.
My first choice.
Bart.
You’re right.
What is your solution?
