There’s something fishy going on here. A store in Kuwait has reportedly been shut down after it was discovered that its owners were sticking googly eyes on fish in an attempt to make them appear fresher. Images of one of the fish, which were uploaded to Twitter by Al Bayan newspaper on Saturday, left users in hilarious disbelief at the creativeness of the store’s owners.

Three years early, Gov. Mark Dayton is taking a stand for his 2016 presidential pick. The DFL governor joined Ready for Hillary, the political action committee supporting Democrat Hillary Clinton's potential run for president, the group said Thursday and Dayton's staff confirmed. "Everyday, Minnesotans from all over our state and from all walks of life tell me that they want to see Hillary Clinton run for president in 2016," Dayton said in a release. "Hillary Clinton is the most qualified person to be the next president of the United States."

Looks like Republicans have prevailed in Minnesota. Governor Mark Dayton has “reluctantly” agreed to the GOP’s June 30th budget proposal and will call a special session to pass it in three days, ending the state shutdown started by his veto of the budget proposed in May: Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton sent a letter Thursday to House Speaker Kurt Zellers and Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch, saying he “reluctantly” agrees to accept the Republican budget proposal from June 30 if it will end the government shutdown. Dayton said accepting the offer would bridge a $1.4 billion gap between him and the...

U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee on Sunday called for congressional hearings to investigate what she calls ''the many downfalls" of the Harris County judicial system. Recent incidents, including a grand jury's decision not to indict a Pasadena man who shot and killed two men suspected of burglarizing his neighbor, have brought into question whether the system is fair and unbiased, she said. The Democrat, who represents District 18, said she is also concerned and frustrated about derogatory e-mails circulated in the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the handling of DNA evidence by the Houston Police Department crime lab and the number...

Dotzauer is working in Cantwell's campaign, and has been Cantwell's boss in the past. Dotzauers divorce had been sealed, which is unusual. Stephan Sharkansky at Sound Politics is THE conservative blogger in the Pac NW. He got the divorce papers unsealed (all 14 volumes of them . . .) and the rest is at the link provided. Here's a bit of it: "The Seattle Times has recently reported on the close ties between Sen. Maria Cantwell and former boyfriend, boss and campaign consultant, lobbyist Ron Dotzauer. Begging explanation is a $15,000-$50,000 personal loan to Dotzauer reported in Cantwell's financial disclosures...

ATLANTA - Runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks has agreed to pay $13,250 to the city of Duluth, Ga., to help pay for the costs the city incurred searching for her, the mayor said Tuesday. The city attorney notified Mayor Shirley Lasseter that a written agreement for compensation had been reached. The city was expected to receive a check from Wilbanks on Tuesday, Lasseter said. In accepting the agreement, the city will have to write off about $30,000 in other costs searching for the bride-to-be, who disappeared April 26, four days before her planned wedding. "We're very appreciative they were willing to...
