  • United Healthcare Assassination Puts New Spotlight on Ghost Guns

On December 4th, 2024, at 6:45 ET, an assassin killed United Healthcare executive Brian Thompson in New York City in front of the Hilton Hotel. Video of the assassination shows the assassin with what appears to be a pistol with a suppressor attached. The assassin fires at least two shots, possibly three, while manually working the action at least twice. This would leave two shell cases and a potentially loaded round or three shell cases at the crime scene. On December 9th, 2024, a suspect was identified in a McDonald’s at about 0914 a.m. in Altoona, PA. Altoona police officers approached...

In an article by whyy.org, the National Public Radio station quotes retired police officer Randy Sutton, who says banning “Ghost guns” will not stop people from getting them. The reporter added interesting commentary to the quotes by Sutton. Sutton added that because ghost guns are not regulated, making them go away outright is unrealistic.Sutton’s words might be interpreted in such a manner. It seems clear Sutton meant the guns would not “go away outright” whether they were banned or not, whether they were regulated or not. Here is a quote from Sutton in the article.“There’s not a chance in the...

On December 12, 2024, USA Today published a hit piece on “ghost guns” attempting to use the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson as a reason to impose unconstitutional restrictions on homemade firearms. It appears Brian Thompson was assassinated with a homemade firearm. However, the manufacture of the firearm did not interfere with the investigation of his murder. The suspect was arrested without any assistance from gun tracing data, as is the case with virtually all violent crimes. Gun tracing has no measurable effect on solving violent crimes. It is difficult to find any violent crime that was solved with...

Mangione, 26, is being held after the UnitedHealthcare CEO was shot dead on the streets of Manhattan after his arrest Monday morning. He was detained at McDonald’s in Pennsylvania around 9am ET on firearm charges and is said to have been found with a 'ghost gun' that may have been made using a 3D printer. Mangione is originally from Towson, Maryland, and is an anti-capitalist former Ivy League student who attended a $40,000-a-year Baltimore private school. The musclebound suspect has ties to San Francisco,...

On August 8, 2023, the Supreme Court of the United States, in a 5-4 decision, granted an emergency to the Biden administration in the case of VanDerStok v. Garland. The case centers around whether the ATF of the Biden administration correctly followed administrative procedure while creating the “Final Rule on a change in the definition of what constitutes a firearm, firearm receiver, or firearm frame, as defined by the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA 1968. On July 27, 2023, the Attorney General of the Biden Administration, Merrick B. Garland, applied for a stay to Justice Alito at the Supreme Court in the case of VanDerStok v. Garland. The request for an emergency stay had been refused by a three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on July 24, 2023, as reported on AmmoLand. One of the possibilities mentioned was the Biden administration would appeal directly to the Supreme Court. The possibility of a request for an en banc decision existed but was unlikely because the Fifth Circuit has been...

One of the automatic weapons used by so called, "counter snipers" at the Waco Twin Peaks biker shooting incident is apparently a 'ghost gun'. The serial number used to identify the weapon in the forensic ballistic reports does NOT exist per Colt Firearms serial number search. Both of the two Remington sniper rifles were in the serial number data base of Remington Bushmaster firearms.

The "ghost gun" used in the murder/suicide in California was built with off the shelf parts, an 80% receiver, and a fair amount of machining. The police officer in the video says that crimes committed with guns made this way are rare.  This is the first murder that he has heard of where one was used.  From kron4.com: WALNUT CREEK (KRON/BCN) — A 21-year-old Lafayette native built the firearms he used to kill a 19-year-old college woman before he turned the gun on himself at a home in Walnut Creek last month, police said Tuesday. Investigators say Scott Bertics...

Kevin De Leon, (California Democrat) of course… makes an absolute fool of himself when attempting to talk about firearms, which he clearly knows nothing about. Unfortunately for him, it was video taped and will now be ‘out there’ forever. Mr. De Leon, is just one more example of the foolishness in the democratic party regarding firearms and the 2nd Amendment. If he wants to be anti-gun… thats his business…. but.. if he thinks his ignorance about firearms should prevent the rest of us from exercising our 2nd Amendment rights, that is MY BUSINESS. Mr. De Leon, the next time you...
