REYNOSA, Tamaulipas — Convoys of cartel gunmen clashed in a Mexican neighborhood immediately south of a U.S. wildlife refuge. The fierce gun battle went on for more than an hour and reached an international bridge zone that connects this city with Pharr, Texas. A leaked cartel video obtained by Breitbart Texas reveals the moment when gunmen from one of the factions ride in an armored SUV in what appears to be a patrol operation. Moments later, the gunmen can be heard calling for reinforcements as they begin to fire their weapons at rivals.

Here's the scene last week: Army Delta Force troops, in boots on the ground in Iraq, swooping into an ISIS prison camp along with Kurdish and Iraqi soldiers. The mission: Free more than five dozen Kurdish and Iraqi captives believed in imminent danger of mass execution. In the darkness, a fierce firefight erupts. The Kurdish and Iraqi break-in stalls. The experienced Special Ops guys, who happen to be heavily-armed in body armor, night-vision goggles and full combat gear, open up. Numerous ISIS troops fall. So does one U.S. operative, Master Sgt. Joshua Wheeler, a veteran of 14 deployments. They breach...

The founder and former CEO of the Blackwater Worldwide security firm said Thursday that the conviction of four of his former employees for their roles in the 2007 fatal shooting of 14 unarmed Iraqis was unexpected, and raised questions whether they received a fair trial. “Well, there was certainly a lot of politics surrounding this and the fact that the federal government spent tens of millions of dollars on this, now trying it seven years after the event, and 7,000 miles from where it happened,” said Erik Prince, in a phone interview. “Certainly, it adds a lot of politics to...

First Lady Michelle Obama told a harrowing story Wednesday of a soldier caught in a “fire fart” during his wartime experience. “There’s this soldier that we met just a month ago,” Obama told the crowd at a Los Angeles event addressing the plight of homeless veterans, “who was caught in a fire fart–fight in Afghanistan.” The soldier returned home to find a bleak environment for veterans of war, according to Michelle’s prepared remarks at the event, which also featured a presentation from Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti.

Ever wonder why the people taking cell phone videos of gunfights aren't themselves hit by bullets? Turns out, there's no good explanation other than dumb luck, because according to the laws of physics, they should be totally screwed.

REYNOSA — Fear and panic filled the streets of Reynosa on Sunday night as rival gunmen battled during a three-hour firefight that saw automatic weapons and grenades used. Surprisingly, Mexican authorities were absent for most of the melee. The opening clashes were reported just before 9 p.m. Sunday, when rival factions of the Gulf Cartel consummated what appeared to be a yet another rift within the criminal organization. During the protracted gunbattle, dozens of gunmen were killed, but authorities Monday would only confirm the deaths of two bystanders and the injury of a third. A Tamaulipas law enforcement official, who...

The IDF's mixed-sex Caracal unit apparently has reasons for both pride and embarrassment following the firefight on the border with Egypt that left one soldier and three terrorists dead. The pride is due to the fact that one of the unit's female fighters, a markswoman identified only by the initial S., took part in the assault on the terrorists and shot one of them to death. The embarrassment is due to reports that another female combat soldier cowered behind a bush for over an hour, causing fear that she had been abducted. S. has been feted by the media, which...

*snip* Instead, he was in a house eight times larger than its neighbors, with a seven-foot wall and valued at $1 million. The house had no phone or television and the residents burned their trash. The house had high windows and few points of access, and U.S. officials concluded it had been built to hide someone. According to U.S. officials, two U.S. helicopters swept into the compound at 1:30 and 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Twenty to 25 U.S. Navy Seals under the command of the Joint Special Operations Command in cooperation with the CIA stormed the compound and engaged Bin...

I was just watching the SWAT Firefight DVD. Now I know it was supposed to be the sequel to the Colin farrell-Sam Jackson-Michelle Rodriguez movie but the stars didn't sign up so they had a B-lister in Gabriel macht take up the lead role. Now I know why it went straight-to-DVD. It has some stealth pro-Obama lines.. 1) There was a scene where the lead actor was assigned to Detroit from L.A. AND was supposed to be a U.S. Iraqi War vet. So they showed a picture of him ...in desert camo...WITH A GERMAN FLAG ON THE SHOULDER! 2) The...

Breitbart.tv Editor-in-Chief Larry O'Connor welcome's the newest member of the Breitbart family of sites, Big Peace, with chilling video of our allied soldiers from England in a harrowing firefight in Afghanistan. ### On July 4th, Andrew Breitbart and Editor-in-Chief Peter Schweizer launched Big Peace. Big Peace will serve as the foreign policy and military group blog for the Breitbart family of websites. It's appropriate that it was launched on the day we Americans celebrate our independence from England. Since that revolution (and a few awkward intervening years including the War of 1812) Britain has been our strongest and most reliable...

In the chaos of an early morning assault on a remote U.S. outpost in eastern Afghanistan, Staff Sgt. Erich Phillips' M4 carbine quit firing as militant forces surrounded the base. The machine gun he grabbed after tossing the rifle aside didn't work either. When the battle in the small village of Wanat ended, nine U.S. soldiers lay dead and 27 more were wounded. A detailed study of the attack by a military historian found that weapons failed repeatedly at a "critical moment" during the firefight on July 13, 2008, putting the outnumbered American troops at risk of being overrun by...

Ten American troops were killed at the weekend in two surprise attacks that caused alarm in Nato’s US-led coalition. In one, hundreds of insurgents attacked a pair of isolated outposts in eastern Afghanistan, killing eight US soldiers and several Afghan policemen in the deadliest battle in 15 months. Scores more Afghan policemen were reportedly captured by the Taleban. In the other an Afghan policeman opened fire on the American soldiers with whom he was working in central Wardak province, killing two and injuring three. It was unclear whether the policeman was working for the Taleban or simply ran amok but...
