On July 4th, Andrew Breitbart and Editor-in-Chief Peter Schweizer launched Big Peace. Big Peace will serve as the foreign policy and military group blog for the Breitbart family of websites. It's appropriate that it was launched on the day we Americans celebrate our independence from England.

Since that revolution (and a few awkward intervening years including the War of 1812) Britain has been our strongest and most reliable friend. Yet our current administration has allowed that alliance to quickly deteriorate and it has become a needlessly strained relationship.

This past week, the British military released video footage of one of our brave allied soldiers taking a bullet in the face during a firefight in Afghanistan. The British soldiers are fighting in Afghanistan as part of a commitment their government made to the United States under President George W. Bush.

When seeing this kind of heroic sacrifice made by English soldiers, it makes one wonder why the Obama Administration has allowed this important and special relationship to turn so sour so quickly.

As the diplomats currently in charge of mending fences with England rack their brains to determine the best course to take, here's a humble suggestion:

Ask for the Churchill bust back and apologize for returning it.

This failure of diplomacy with our greatest ally is "Exhibit A" as to why now, more than ever, we need Big Peace to steer the national conversation in a pro-American, pro-Liberty direction. Welcome aboard, you're just in time!

It’s the Liberty, Stupid: ‘Big Peace’ Launches!

When the American Left uses the word “peace” what they really mean is surrender, appeasement, and the stability that comes with an evil in charge ready to reward those who call for America and her allies to surrender and appease. Yesterday, Editor-In-Chief Peter Schweizer launched Big Peace, and with a single sentence put the Left on notice that they no longer own that word: Peace is a word devoid of meaning unless it includes liberty.

Liberty.

On the same day, July 4th, 1826, fifty years to the day from the birth of this great nation they founded, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died.

What are the chances? How about zero?

Such an improbable occurrence was our Creator’s not-so-subtle way of reminding us that the United States of America is something special, something worth preserving. And no wonder.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Those are the only secular words I find as moving and wise and compassionate and eternally truthful as the Eight Beatitudes of the Gospels.

And those words are America.

This country may be built upon a piece of land, house millions of citizens, and enjoy many traditions, but those things are not what America is. America is an idea; a noble idea that essentially boils down to the shocking belief that the masses are in fact not asses.

Yup, it’s the liberty, stupid.

Although each one of Andrew Breitbart’s BIG brainchildren is charged with covering wildly different topics, I like to think that Liberty is the muse we all share in common.

Something else we have in common is that the Left holds no sway over us. The deadly siren song they’ve sung for ages – just compromise a little and we’ll like you — that has successfully drawn so many from our side onto the sharp rocks of self-mutilation only encourages us to defeat them all the more.

And so with the launch of each new BIG the left dies a little more inside, and with the combined intellectual firepower of Schweizer, Frank Gaffney and Blackfive on the banner, the appeasers are gonna need to get a few more guys.

Welcome to the party, Big Peace. Welcome to the family.

How starkly obvious and stunningly unstatesmanlike that the UK is being purposely dissed by the incompetent and arrogant WH resident, when Queen Elizabeth is visiting Ground Zero today.. and is not being joined by him, nor has she been invited to the WH, nor is there any official welcoming statement or even an acknowledgement of her presence on our soil that I've heard. If I'm incorrect, I'll stand corrected .. but this is appalling and amateurish behavior. He's not presidential .. he's merely a politician.

An interesting note: wounded British trooper and others appear to be wearing Multicam instead of British desert DPM. Multicam was found to be very effective in mixed terrain environments, not that it did much good out in the open.
