The FR threads would always show the number of views. Now they don't. Just curious why it's not shown anymore. I must have missed the explanation if it was posted by admin. Does anyone know?

A thread yesterday talked about how the jihadis were going to attack websites of those who stood in the way of jihad. FR was mentioned. This morning, I'm starting to get a lot of "502" errors here. If I find the link from yesterday I'll post it below. Anyone else having this problem?

Is Free Republic a commercial operation or a charity? Well, here's the way I see it. Free Republic is neither a charity or a commercial operation. It is simply a website. A public political bulletin board, just like thousands upon thousands of other non-commercial, not for profit, public political bulletin boards, only larger. Our participants post and discuss political topics, government topics, constitutional issues, current events and other miscellaneous topics. I operate it as an avocation (a hobby). I was sued by a couple major media players, so I filed as an LLC to gain at least a small ...

Is there a specific date FreeRepublicans celebrate FR's birth? Or is there a day it ought to be celebrated (besides every day)?

Sorry about the downtime. Another of our servers crashed and is down hard. John at first couldn't even get connected to reboot it, but finally got in and has now reconfigured around the dead sever. He'll be going up to San Jose tonight to see if he can figure out how to fix the hardware. In the meantime, we may be limping along, but at least we're up. We're now looking into replacing at least two of our servers. Our hardware has seen better days. Very disappointing to crash in the middle of the presidential debate. We're very sorry about...

I have been experiencing a rash of odd FreeRepublic behavior. Every so often, instead of links working as expected (post, clicking reply to FreepMail, etc.) a blank page comes up with simply: Temporarily Unavailable No other explanation. Sometimes it continues to come up repeatedly, while other times, I may only see it once in a session. Anyone have a clue what this might be about? I don't believe it is related to my internet connection, as it has done it to me at work a few times as well on multiple computers.

When posting to FR are you getting “temporarily unavailable” messages when trying to post replies? Is your computer very slow like a snail on FR even though you have DSL?

Nothing...thats what it means. The afholes have been trying to scare FReepers with this little bit information. Here is my opinion on the subject. As you all know, the Washington Post and LA Times sued FR LLC and Jim to stop it from posting full text articles. The basis of FR's attorneys defense rested on the fair use clause. Unfortunately, Jim drew probably the worst judge he could...Margaret Morrow, a Clinton nominee, whose appointment was held up for a long time by Republicans due to here obvious left wing opinions. The plaintiffs attorneys filed a pre trial motion to squelch ...

Took me about 10 tries to get on, is FR having some sort of server issue?
-
Anyone else notice it can take up to 10 - 15 seconds to post lately? One of the things I admired about FR technology- besides the design- was the instantaneous posting speed. Does this has anything to to with more traffic or the volume of archives?

I spend a few minutes each day staying in touch with pop culture and news; Digg, Youtube, and Freerepublic are my mainstays. I have discovered, as I'm sure most readers have, that the comments and discussion of an article or post is as, if not more, interesting, funny, and informative as the original article. The problem is wading thru all the mediocre comments (often 100's) for the real gems among the bunch. I would like to suggest a rating system similar to other sites that allow other readers to rate comments which will allow other users to sort the comments...

We've received many requests from freepers requesting that other freepers not post to them. There are several problems with this. 1. It's impossible for us to enforce.2. We don't have the time to enforce these requests.3. We don't have the software to keep track of these requests.4. Thick skin helps.5. Ignore the poster, if you don't reply, they won't reply. Free Republic does not need a bozo filter, bozo filters are for wimps. Final note: Trolls, troublemakers, disruptors, forum pests, malcontents, RINOs, liberals, stalkers, et al, would continue posting to (harassing) someone after being asked to stop. Conservative FReepers would...

I am searching for software that was discussed and linked here. It was software that tested computer addresses and blocked the tracking of physical addresses of the computer. I had never realized that my physical address was available to the right software, when I surfed. Would somone be so kind and post the links to the sites that do this. I have not been able to find them on scroogle searches or FR searches. Thank you.

Just a quick question. How do I find out how many posts I've made to FR? I know this was asked a while ago, but can't remember the link. Thanks.

My Free Republic Jacket is wearing out and my shirts are starting to fade, I was wondering where the Freeper Store was nowadays?

Just wondering how to post an update to a thread I created.

Does anyonw know how I can access FR at work when the system won't allow to laod the page.

I've been to the HTML bootcamp link on FR but I can't find the how to for creating charts. When I try to post an article that a has a chart, the outside frame work for the actual chart will not highlight to be copied. A two column chart for example. A point in the right direction sure would be appreciated.
