President Donald Trump's phone call Tuesday to the widow of a soldier killed in action in Niger has, somehow, turned into a she said/he said situation. The "she" is Florida Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson who said she was present when Trump called the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson and allegedly told her of her late husband "he knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurt." The "he" is Trump, who tweeted this morning that "Democrat Congresswoman totally fabricated what I said to the wife of a soldier who died in action (and I have proof)....

A Georgia woman and her fellow Delta passengers were prevented from singing the National Anthem as crews unloaded the casket of a fallen soldier at Atlanta’s airport last weekend. Pamela Dee Gaudry was on a flight toward Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport when she learned the body of a fallen soldier – 29-year-old Army Staff Sgt. Dusting Wright – was on her plane. Gaudry, the wife of a deceased Army captain, wanted to honor the Special Forces soldier who was among four U.S. troops killed in an attack in Niger on Oct. 4, by singing the National Anthem. She went around the...

His name was Marine Lance Cpl. Justin Wilson - although I did not know it when his life brushed mine on March 25 at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Lance Cpl. Wilson was not there in the terminal that afternoon; at age 24 and newly married, he had been killed in Afghanistan on March 22 by a roadside bomb. A coincidence of overbooked flights led our lives to intersect for perhaps an hour, one I will never forget. I did not meet his family that day at the airport, either, although we were there together that evening at the gate,...

I discovered a patriotic song and video on YouTube last night that just touched my heart and soul. It was called 21 GUNS (Fallen Soldier Song) by Bobby Billings. I just want to share it with everyone because it will make you realize just how much soldiers and their families sacrifice for us. Just search the title on Youtube and you will see it. Thanks.

The New York-based troop-support group sends care packages and letters to soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan each month. BROWNSVILLE, Texas — A Roman Catholic priest urged mourners Wednesday at the funeral of a Texas soldier who was captured and mutilated in Iraq to avoid "unholy rage" and work for peace to honor his memory. Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, was one of two 101st Airborne Division soldiers whose booby-trapped remains were found June 19, three days after they disappeared following an insurgent attack. Diocese of Brownsville Bishop Raymundo Pena spoke of Menchaca's valor and sacrifice. "News reports about the circumstances of Kris' death in Iraq could lead us to an unholy rage and anger, but that would only dishonor...

Hero, brother He wasn’t just a soldier. Every one needs to know what a great hero he was. Sgt. Brett Swank started off in the Army just to pay for college and ended up paying the ultimate price. When he was home from Iraq, he felt bad because all of his soldiers were still over there fighting. My very last memory with Brett was hanging out at my house with some close friends, just talking and goofing off like it was it was any ordinary night. We stayed up all night, until we saw him off to the airport with...
