I'm seriously considering purchasing a DSA FAL rifle in 308, but really don't know much about them, so I thought I'd post a thread to learn some more. I want this rifle to accurately reach out to 500-600 yards, but not be too large to preclude it from CQB usage. My main questions are as follows: What type receiver should I get? Type I, II, or III? What is the best method of mounting an optic to this rifle, such as an Aimpoint or Leupuld 3-9X? Are the rail interface handguards worth the $250 price that DSA sells them for?...

I am looking for info to the best place to get a good deal on kit/salvage guns. I am also looking for advice on the best way to go about getting an ffl for part-time business applications.

Similar assault weapons can be found for sale on the Internet and in gun publications. The Chilean weapons imported by P.W. Arms were manufactured as shoulder-fire, gas-operated machine guns. No arrests have been made in the case.

OK folks, here it is... everyone's favorite... an "I need FReeper opinions on a new gun" thread! Hooray! Here's the lowdown: I have $1,200 and I think I'm going to blow it on a new rifle. From the bit of looking into it his will be what folks call a "battle rifle". I'm thinking about .223 or .308 but I'm certainly open to other suggestions. I really can't spend anything over $1,200 even though I would like to. I can't get too crazy here. Any suggestions you would have, are greatly appreciated. I know everyone loves a good "gun thread"!...
