Cassandra Peterson is frighteningly good at makeovers! The actress is most known for her portrayal of horror goddess Elvira Mistress of the Dark, a goth-loving character that appeared in a slew of movies and TV shows in the '80s and '90s. Now, though, she's traded in her jet black locks and dark makeup for a new role in, of all places, Rob Zombie's movie reboot of '60s TV show "The Munsters." In the film, Cassandra plays a real estate agent… a non-threatening one — and she is unrecognizable

Cassandra Peterson, aka iconic horror hostess Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, claims she lost 11,000 “horny old men” followers on social media after she came out as queer in September. “I knew that there were going to be some horny old men out there who were just not going to like the fact that they didn’t have a chance with me anymore,” Peterson joked on Thursday’s episode of David Yontef’s “Behind The Velvet Rope” podcast. She laughed and added, “and I hate to tell them they already didn’t have a chance of me anyway.” The 70-year-old “Queen of Halloween” shocked...

The actress who played late-night horror hostess Elvira has claimed she was sexually assaulted by late NBA player Wilt Chamberlain. Cassandra Peterson, 70, who began portraying the famous horror figure in the 1980s, made the allegations in her tell-all memoir Yours Cruelly, Elvira: Memoirs of the Mistress of the Dark, released on Tuesday. She claims the former Harlem Globetrotter had forced her to perform oral sex on him. 'When a 7-foot-1, 300-pound man has his hand wrapped around your neck, there’s really not a lot you can do,' Peterson wrote. She also references Chamberlain's memoir where he detailed his history...

The mistress of the dark is kissing the stage goodbye. Elvira is retiring as a live performer after nearly fifty years in the entertainment industry, according to The Gazette. She's set to appear in her final show at Knott's Berry Farm, where she's been headlining Halloween performances for 21 years, on Tuesday. "I just decided that, you know, doing live shows is really difficult and it takes up a big chunk of time every year," Elvira, born Cassandra Peterson, told The Gazette. Although she's through with on-stage performances, the queen of Halloween isn't hanging up her sexy black gown for...

The Elvira Show. CBS filmed a pilot for the Elvira show hot off the heels of the movie "Elvira, Mistress of the Dark" though the shows plot line has nothing to do with the movie. I was lucky enough to actually be at the taping of this pilot. The show starred Cassandra Peterson as Elvira and Katherine Helmond as Aunt Minerva. The writing is witty and chocked full of innuendoes and one liners that are so bad they are great! Too bad it was never picked up.

Songwriter Dallas Frazier penned "Elvira" in 1966 and included it as the title track of an album he released that year. A number of recording artists, most notably Kenny Rogers and the First Edition, recorded the song through the years, to varying degrees of success.[1] Frazier's own version peaked at #72 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1966.[2] The title of the song was inspired not by the name of a woman, but by the name of a street in East Nashville, Tennessee.[3] Elvira (song) Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvira_(song)

Any time a large amount of candy changes hands, and borderline-overweight parents are in charge, the potential for disaster is high. Treat Halloween like you would a third or fourth cruise, when you know how much girth-expansion is coming. How much weight do you want to gain? The usual 3 or 4 pounds, which can be rationalized away as water weight, or the “Full Monty,” 10-15 pounds, where nothing you used to wear fits anymore? Assuming you would like your weight gain to be minimal, read on, dear reader, to avoid the pitfalls of this potentially disastrous evening. Remember, sweat...

MEXICO CITY: A Mexican migrant-rights advocate deported from the U.S said she began a hunger strike Friday to push her government to demand its citizens receive better treatment north of the border. Elvira Arellano, a former illegal migrant who turned to activism during a yearlong fight to stay in the U.S., said she was holding the hunger strike "because I want our government to listen, to act, to defend our migrant families." Speaking to a group of Mexican migrant activists, Arellano decried U.S. efforts to jail illegal migrants, put up security fences on the border and step up deportations. "Is...

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. Dozens of anti-illegal immigration activists faced off against immigrant-rights backers at a rally outside a church where an illegal immigrant is being sheltered with her U.S.-born infant son. One immigrant-rights advocate was injured with a chemical spray during Sunday's confrontation at the United Church of Christ, officials said. Members of the anti-illegal immigration group Save Our State, which organized the rally that drew about 120 protesters and counter-protesters, said they had hoped to make a citizen's arrest of the woman, who has identified herself only as Liliana. Liliana is living in the church's former parsonage as part...

Miss Arellano had promised to come to the District yesterday for an immigration-reform prayer vigil before being sent back to Mexico on Aug. 19. But Saul..showed up in her place. Thursday, September 13, 2007 WON'T THIS WOMAN JUST PLEASE SHUT THE HELL UP? I happened on a television yesterday .. and tuned in Fox News for a moment. There she was, Elvira Arellano, the fugitive criminal alien who was deported to Mexico last month. Now Elvira has decided just who to blame for her troubles. You do remember Elvira, don't you? She's the Mexican criminal alien who was deported from the U.S. once, and then sneaked back in, stole a Social Security number and then stole a job from a legal American worker. She then hid in some storefront church...

(AP) MEXICO The Mexican government said Tuesday it is talking with U.S. officials about whether a deported illegal migrant and activist could return to the United States. Elvira Arellano was arrested and sent back to her native Mexico last month after taking refuge in a Chicago church for a year to avoid a deportation order. Mexican Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa said she approached U.S. authorities on Arellano's behalf after the 32-year-old asked Mexican President Felipe Calderon to help her return to the United States legally as a "peace and justice" ambassador. Espinosa did not say whether Mexico planned to give...

"1 Down, 11,999,999 to Go" That was the title of Ann Coulter's column last week celebrating the deportation of Elvira Arellano. Elvira never learned English but she did master the truly American language of defiant entitlement. Prior to her deportation, Elvira said the following, "Like many others, I came to the United States to work. I came because of what NAFTA and other U.S. economic policies had done to my country in which I could no longer find work that paid a living wage." I had no idea Elvira was such a doctrinaire trade policy wonk. And neither did she....

MEXICO CITY -- The 8-year-old son of deported immigrant activist Elvira Arellano was reunited with her Friday at Mexico City's airport. Arellano said she wants her son, Saul, a U.S. citizen, to go to school in her home state of Michoacan so he can learn Spanish. Saul, whose first trip to Mexico was in November to ask the Mexican Congress to lobby Washington to stop his mother's deportation, received a Mexican passport from his mother as proof of his dual citizenship. They plan to renew the boy's U.S. passport, something he could not do in the United States in the...

CHICAGO (AP) - The son of deported immigration activist Elvira Arellano (el-VEER'-uh ahr-ay-AH'-noh) will travel to Mexico Friday to visit his mother and try to renew his U.S. passport. The Reverend Walter Coleman says 8-year-old Saul Arellano will visit his mother for at least the weekend. Coleman heads Adalberto United Methodist Church where Arellano had sought sanctuary for the past year to avoid deportation. Coleman's wife, Emma Lozano, heads an immigration rights group in Chicago and is Saul's legal guardian. But Coleman says Saul, a U.S. citizen, can't renew his U.S. passport without his mother's presence.
