Ann Coulter & Elvira Arellano: Separated by a Border, United for Democrat Majority
urqmedia ^ | August 27, 2007 | Dan proft

Posted on 09/02/2007 4:43:32 PM PDT by chicagolady

"1 Down, 11,999,999 to Go"

That was the title of Ann Coulter's column last week celebrating the deportation of Elvira Arellano.

Elvira never learned English but she did master the truly American language of defiant entitlement.

Prior to her deportation, Elvira said the following, "Like many others, I came to the United States to work. I came because of what NAFTA and other U.S. economic policies had done to my country in which I could no longer find work that paid a living wage."

I had no idea Elvira was such a doctrinaire trade policy wonk. And neither did she.

Elvira's channeling of Dennis Kucinich is not evidence of the occult. It is evidence of her role as a pawn for the Democrats.

One need not consult an Ouija Board to divine the Democrats' ploy--let Republicans build a fence between themselves and yet another minority electorate by not having the good sense to attack an untenable message rather than a sympathetic messenger.

At the risk of failing to fully alienate Hispanic voters, Republicans like Coulter read ahead in the Democrats' playbook, not only issuing a good riddance to Elvira, a dubious martyr even in the Mexican immigrant community, but a hope for the same outcome to every undocumented person in this country.

Coulter's advocacy is as impolitic as it is impractical.

Persons here illegally have by definition broken the law, as is Coulter's essential point, but that is the beginning not the end of the analysis.

"It's the law" is not a moral defense to laws that are immoral. The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 was "the law" and it was wrong. National origins quotas aimed at stemming the tide of southern and eastern European immigrants was "the law" on immigration until 1965

There is nothing wrong with “National origins quotas”.

It is our country, our language and our culture — and these things are ours to defend as we see fit in our immigration policies.

“Elvira never learned English”

Really? There is no excuse for someone to be in the US as long as she was and not learn English. Now I’m doubly glad that criminal got caught and deported.

"It's the law" is not...

If this author thinks that identity theft is a victimless crime, he should post his social security number on the web-site along with his email address. It's time for the apologists to get engaged.

"It's the law" is not a moral defense to laws that are immoral.

Since when is it immoral to regulate the flow of immigrants that are entering your nation? Dang me if this clown hasn't joined the La Raza chorus of Azatlan enthuziasts.

The laws that govern immigration into our nation aren't all that complex. You cannot enter our borders without going through an approved process. This is the most reasoned and unbiased method of entry we could have developed.

Those who rail against it based on bias, have failed to realize that the most biased approach would be to favor Mexican nationals above all others. Why should those others be relegated to second-class status under the Mexican immigrants?

I do believe the Mexican segment does receive considerable favored treatment even under the laws we have on the books. What is unclear is why anyone would demand more bias, unless there were an ulterior motive. What is that ulterior motive? Who is behind it. What are their short and long term goals?

That is something that should be under investigation. It's my belief that when that investigation was finished, federal charges would be a certainty.

Proft, you may remember is the one who helped recruit Alan Keyes to replace Jack Ryan, both of whose campaigns he worked on in 2004.

Proft was also active in Blue Island’s 2005 municipal elections. He received $4,084 through Starfish from The Coalition Party, a.k.a,, The Progressive Party.

Dan Proft was also Pat O'Malley's campaign spokesman in his 2002 race for Governor. (Those that doesn't neccessarily mean Proft is a staunch conservative)

Much of the criticism levied at the so-called conservative news service was due to Dan Proft’s role as Leader president. Proft cut his political teeth under the once-powerful Republican Leader of the Illinois House of Representatives, Lee Daniels. But from the start, some were disenchanted with Proft’s leadership.

Proft drew the ire of many because he was associated with individuals who could hardly be considered social conservatives. Proft headed up the campaign of Beth Coulson, a member of the Illinois House and a staunch Republican pro-abortionist. When John Porter retired from Congress, Proft also worked for the far left Republican candidate James Goulka in his unsuccessful bid for office.

On Tom Roeser’s radio show [WLS 890 AM] Proft admitted he, at one time, worked for Judy Baar Topinka, the Treasurer for the state of Illinois and a Republican with liberal views on social issues, including abortion. Proft did not elaborate in what capacity he was employed by Topinka.

These associations set off alarm bells with social conservatives who wondered how Proft could philosophically control a conservative news entity, while actively working on behalf of those who were fighting against the views the Leader was supposed to espouse.

La Raza is an explicitly racist organization by its own definition and is funded quite liberally by the Ford Foundation. The immigration quotas put into place in 1965 under LBJ explicitly curb immigration from the European countries of our ascendents and favor third world countries with their low-skilled labor. The descendents of Dead White European Males are allowed to be discriminated against in the Brave New World of Liberal Amerika.
