MEXICO CITY: A Mexican migrant-rights advocate deported from the U.S said she began a hunger strike Friday to push her government to demand its citizens receive better treatment north of the border.
Elvira Arellano, a former illegal migrant who turned to activism during a yearlong fight to stay in the U.S., said she was holding the hunger strike "because I want our government to listen, to act, to defend our migrant families."
Speaking to a group of Mexican migrant activists, Arellano decried U.S. efforts to jail illegal migrants, put up security fences on the border and step up deportations.
"Is Mexico prepared to receive all of these deported people and their families?" Arellano said on the opening day of the "First Parliament of Mexican Migrant Leaders Who Live in the U.S."

Fixed it. We should have an "Eat a taco for Elvira Day" to support her hunger strike!

no tacos for you!!!
To: Andy'smom
You couldn’t make something this stupid up. She needs to get straight exactly what she was while she was in the US. She wasn’t a migrant. Migrants enter the country legally on work permits. The name should be changed to “First Parliament of Mexican Illegal Alien Leaders who have Invaded the U.S.”

"Is Mexico prepared to receive all of these deported people and their families?" Arellano said If "all these" people are Mexican citizens, Mexico better d**n well be prepared to to receive them.
And frankly, if all illegals in this country want to go on a hunger strike, that's fine with me-so long as they're as sincere as were those IRA terrorists imprisoned back in the early 1980s...

WTF? RECEIVE deported people? They flippin' CAME from Mexico in the first place. Mexico better "recieve" them back or they need to start reimbursing the US Treasury for all the SS, welfare and free medical care they've been stealing.

If it’s anything like Cindy “Mother Moonbat” Sheehan’s “hunger strike” against the WoT, lots of milkshakes, protein drinks, smoothies and hot toddies will be ingested....

I would be tempted to make reference to a "Captain Obvious" type of statement, but anymore, I guess it just isn't so.
