Around midmorning on Thursday, parents across Montana started receiving texts from their children that schools were in lockdown. Schools quickly confiscated students’ phones, and parents panicked as they couldn’t find out anything more about what was happening. Schools statewide received threats of a suicidal person with a gun. Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Great Falls, and Kalispell all received threats. Fortunately, there was no such gunman.
