Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby dismissed almost 600 criminal cases for what she determined are minor offenses. In other words, minor crimes are allowed in crime-ridden Baltimore. The minor crimes include, among others, drug possession, paraphernalia possession, prostitution (allows for trafficking), trespassing, minor traffic offenses, open container, rogues and vagabond, and urinating/defecating in public. Isn’t that lovely? She boasted that she already filed to vacate almost 5,000 Circuit Court and District Court marijuana convictions. But Circuit Court Judge W. Michel Pierson and District Court Judge Kathleen Sweeney completely shot down Mosby’s request to erase those convictions on April 26, The...

Boston, MA – When Suffolk County’s district attorney-elect Rachel Rollins takes over the prosecutor’s office in January, criminals will no longer need to worry about being held accountable for many offenses – including resisting arrest. “It’s a recipe for disaster,” veteran Boston defense attorney, Robert Griffin, told the Boston Globe. “The problem is the message that you’re sending,” Griffin stressed. “You’re encouraging bad behavior. You’re telling people that we’re not going to do anything about this.” Rollins, 47, has been widely hailed – and widely criticized – for her well-publicized “Charges to be Declined” list, which she has featured on...

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. — A few Sundays ago, federal immigration agents walked through the doors of handsome houses here in the Detroit suburbs, brushing past tearful children, stunned wives and statuettes of the Virgin Mary in search of men whose time was up.If the Trump administration prevails, more than 100 of these men may soon be deported, like the tens of thousands of other people rounded up this year as part of a national clampdown on illegal immigration. But the arrests may have stunned this community more than most. While President Trump was hurling verbal napalm at Mexico and vowing to keep...

Ed Schultz knows nothing about misdemeanor sentencing guidelines . . . Playing the race card over the arrest and conviction of Republican congressman Trey Radel for cocaine possession, Ed Schultz has claimed there is "no doubt" that an African-American who committed the same crime "would be facing jail time." Really? Radel's crime was a misdemeanor, and he was a first-time offender. It would be highly unusual for anyone pleading guilty under such circumstances to be sentenced to jail time. DC jails could not possibly hold all the low-level misdemeanor drug offenders. View the video here.
