According to a report, former All-Star pitcher Esteban Loaiza was arrested in San Diego a few days ago with what looks like a drug stash belonging to a major drug trafficker. He faces felony drug charges as he had 20 kilos of either cocaine or heroin, based upon the police report that Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports tweeted out:

Mexico is not sending us their best.
This is why I don’t buy my drugs at Costco. You try to save a little money by buying in bulk and suddenly they want to say you’re a dealer. :(
[ From MLB All-Star to drug mule, in one easy lesson. ]
Maybe he was just doing the drug-mule’ing (sp) that Americans refuse to do. Or, he did it out of love.
“Well, how did THAT get there?”.
He only made about $44 million in his career.
BASEBALL career, that is.....
Prolly supplementing his meager salary . . .
Apparently, he wasn’t caught by accident. He was under investigation.
A kilo = 2.2 pounds, right? Obviously for personal use; nothing to see here, move along... < /sarc >
“It wasn’t mine! Some guy gave it to me to hold for a while.”
Esteban Antonio Loaiza Veyna [lo-EYE-sa] (born December 31, 1971) is a Mexican retired baseball pitcher.
Born: December 31, 1971 (age 46)
Tijuana, Mexico
Not a US citizen. Deport!
Are you insinuating that the quality of these drugs wasn’t their best?
This incident was probably just a rich MLB player bringing some of the best drugs for his personal stash in case the Trump wall creates a shortage.
No kidding. Why can’t past All Star pitchers economize like the rest of us?
Loaiza had one good year (probably fueled by PED’s) but was a very average MLB pitcher otherwise. He still made plenty enough money to live well in Mexico for life - sad that he felt the need to get involved in the national business (aka drug trade).
