  • The Courageous Acts of German Soldier Franz Hasel during WWII

    06/03/2024 2:30:15 PM PDT · by Eleutheria5 · 5 replies
Discover the unbelievable bravery of Franz Hasel, a German soldier who risked his life to defy the Nazis during WWII. On a mild Saturday in 1939, a letter arrived at a German farmhouse that changed the family’s world. It was a summons from the draft board for the 40-year-old Franz Hasel to attend the recruitment office in Frankfurt the following Monday. Because he was a pacifist, Hasel was assigned as a private to the Pioneer Company 699, which built roads, bridges and fortifications at the front lines. But Hasel’s story is truly unbelievable. Although he wore the uniform, he disagreed...

Russia's deputy science minister, allegedly a private critic of the 'fascist' invasion of Ukraine, has died suddenly after falling seriously ill on a flight to Moscow on Saturday. Pyotr Kucherenko, 46, was returning from a business trip to Cuba when his plane was forced to make an emergency landing in southern Russia, the Science and Higher Education Ministry said yesterday.Doctors performed CPR but were unable to save the official. His family said the death was linked to an underlying heart condition, but the body is expected to undergo an autopsy on May 24. Independent journalist Roman Super wrote after the...

Greetings: Can anybody here point me to a non-PC web browser that can post images as wallpaper? I have both Microsoft Edge and Gab Dissenter, but neither appears to be capable of posting images as wallpaper. I was thinking of downloading Firefox again, as I've had it before, and it can create wallpapers from images. Unfortunately, I have no idea whether that lunatic who wanted to squash Trumpian internet thought is still in charge of Mozilla. (FD: I do use Firefox on my work laptop, and it's fine for that purpose and used by lots of us at work, along...

Google controls what the vast majority of the world finds on the internet. Being put at the top of the Google results for search is not only immensely lucrative, it is also almost mind-bogglingly powerful in global affairs.Since 2016, according to multiple reports, Google’s algorithm has been increasingly manipulated to bury and elevate specific information, especially politically charged information. This appears to have strong effects on what people believe and therefore how they vote and respond to polls that inform what politicians do with their power.A 2018 Wall Street Journal investigation concluded, “The internet giant uses blacklists, algorithm tweaks and...

Users can access comment threads on a URL by searching for the link on Dissenter’s web app at dissenter.com,” explained Gab founder Andrew Torba. “Alternatively, if users install the free and open-source Dissenter browser extension, users can see comments being made on any URL they navigate to displayed in a sidebar in their browser.” “Dissenter.com thus extends Gab’s reach, and its free speech platform, across the entire internet. Anyone with a Gab.com account can access Dissenter, and utilize it to express themselves on any content on the...

  • Does Vatican Spokesman Consider Cardinal Burke a Dissenter?

Father Tom Rosica, frequent official voice of the Vatican and Pope Francis, has sent out a tweet that seems to suggest the Vatican considers American Cardinal Raymond Burke a dissenter from Church teaching. “Dissenter” is a word loaded with negative meaning in the Catholic world. It implies the person disagrees with a fundamental teaching of the Church. Rosica’s tweet was a link to an interview Cardinal Donald Wuerl gave to the Italian newspaper La Stampa that some think was a criticism of his fellow American Cardinal, who was recently demoted by Pope Francis from head of the Vatican Supreme Court...

New Pope A Strong Critic of War The election of Benedict XVI as pope brings hope for the continuation of peacemaking as central to the papacy. Just as John Paul II cried out again and again to the world, “War never again!” the new pope has taken the name of the one who first made that cry, Benedict XV, commonly known as “the peace pope.” The name is no coincidence. In fact, Cardinal Justin Rigali, Archbishop of Philadelphia said Tuesday that the new pope told the cardinals he was selecting Benedict because "he is desirous to continue the efforts...

MOSCOW (AP) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday stripped many of the duties of his top economic adviser - an outspoken critic who has accused the Kremlin of trying to muzzle voices of dissent and civil society in Russia. Andrei Illarionov, who last week said the Kremlin efforts to censure the public would eventually spark mass protests, was stripped of his responsibilities as Russia's envoy to the Group of 8 industrial nations, the Kremlin said. Another top adviser, Igor Shuvalov, was given Illarionov's duties, which typically involve heavy preparations for G-8 summit and meetings, earning the envoys the affectionate...

Does anyone besides Dan Rather and Terry McAuliffe think there is a story in the big blockbuster now threatening to bring down CBS, Dan Rather, the DNC, the Kerry campaign, and every other sleazy liberal sludge slinger? A young George W. Bush, (eldest son of Sr. statesmen George H. Bush) may have gotten special treatment in the Guard 30 years ago, and this is “news”? What is it about this story that is so potentially damning towards Bush, that Democrats were willing to forge documents in order to level the charge? Only in this 2004 election, where Presidential candidate George...

Three Varieties of Dissenter, Examined There are three distinct kinds of dissenters today. 1. The hysteric. Guess who made this statement: "I am literally comparing Bush and his cronies to Hitler, only Hitler had a smaller vision." A Saudi cleric? Saddam Hussein? Osama bin Laden, speaking via Ouija board in the breakroom at Al Jazeera? No. It's Patch Adams, a wacky doctor who heals the sick with madcap clowning. Robin Williams played him in a movie, so learning that Patch Adams called George W. Bush Hitler Plus is like learning that Mrs. Doubtfire believes there was a massacre at Jenin....
