Michael Moore's image has been sitting on a time bomb for years now -- and David Zucker was the cunning movie producer who had planted this proverial 'bomb'. Remember the 'Naked Gun'? Or the other comedy, 'Airplane'? That's David Zucker. What many people don't know about him is that Zucker has lampooned Michael Moore and the leftist Establishment in 'An American Carole', a hard-hitting comedy that all conservatives would enjoy and take great gratification from -- at Michael Moore's expense more than anyone else.

Miss Puerto Rico dared support Trump reg. muslims. She also refused to agree that 'we are all muslims'. This was directed at Michael Moore's latest photo-op. She was banned from the contest. If she had criticized Trump, I imagine she would have gotten a standing-o. [More on that 'old' news in followup post.] Michael Moore got snarky: "Miss Puerto Rico seems like a wonderful representative of maybe not of Puerto Rico but of Alabama, maybe? Mississippi, maybe?"

IF If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you But make allowance for their doubting too, If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream--and not make dreams your master, If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat...

Dennis Hopper may have passed away, but along with his many film appearances, he has left an important legacy to UFO researchers. That's the belief of Vancouver-based paranormal researcher Jon Kelly, who says the script that Hopper and "Easy Rider" co-star Peter Fonda wrote for the 1969 counterculture classic helped introduce a lot of information about UFOs to a massive audience. Kelly points to the campfire scene where Hopper (who played Billy) and cast member Jack Nicholson (George) discuss extraterrestrials and their presence on the planet. In the film's dialogue, Hopper states, "I saw a satellite, man. And it was going...

Dennis Hopper Exits The Vast Right Wing Hollywood Conspiracy Posted by Dirty Harry on Monday, October 13th, 2008 Dammit. Lost another one. It’s not like we’re flush with Republicans out here: “I voted for Bush, father and son, but this time I’ll vote for Obama,” he told journalists at the opening of a show on his life and work at the Paris cinematheque. … “I was the first person in my family to have been Republican,” he added. “For most of my life I wasn’t on the left.” “I pray God, Barack Obama is elected,” he said, criticising the current...

Americans numbed by the daily barrage of politics-as-usual are about to be awakened by some new fireworks -- Hollywood-style. Imagine documentary filmmaker Michael Moore and director David Zucker ("Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun") in the center ring and you begin to get the idea. Zucker's new movie, "An American Carol" (due in theaters Oct. 3), is a shot across Hollywood's bow, aimed directly at Moore. No slouch in self-defense -- or self-promotion -- Moore will release his own online movie, "Slacker Uprising," a few days before Zucker's to reap the benefit of the backhanded buzz. The release of both films...

The comedy director who gave us such immortal movie lines as “Oh stewardess, I speak jive” and “Don’t call me Shirley” is now leveling his sights at documentary filmmaker Michael Moore. David Zucker, the director and writer who helped create “Airplane!” and “The Naked Gun” franchise has called on Hollywood’s tiny but tightly knit Republican A-list crowd to help him make a broad yet unusually right-leaning political satire titled “An American Carol.” The low-budget indie co-stars Emmy winner Kelsey Grammer with Oscar-winner Jon Voight, cinema icon Dennis Hopper, model-heiress Paris Hilton and frequent Zucker stooge Leslie Nielsen in minor roles....

The conceptual artist Mark Wallinger, otherwise known as the Dancing Bear, has won the £25,000 Turner Prize for his monumental political work, State Britain, a recreation of the one-man Parliament Square anti-Iraq war protest destroyed by Tony Blair's government. The installation, which was shown at Tate Britain at the start of the year, was Wallinger's 40-metre long replica, complete with banners and tarpaulin shelter, of the mini-peace camp run by Brian Haw opposite the Houses of Parliament from June, 2001, until it was demolished by the police in May, 2006, under new powers banning protests within one kilometre of the...

NICOLE Kidman has made a public stand against terrorism. The actress, joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully-worded full page advertisement in today's Los Angeles Times newspaper. It specifically targets "terrorist organisations" such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine. "If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people...

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Back in the 1960s, when Dennis Hopper was directing his counterculture classic "Easy Rider," he could never have imagined himself playing a colonel and former Green Beret, which he does on NBC's Wednesday military drama "E-Ring," produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. "People always say to me, 'Are you playing a bad guy?'" Hopper jokes, sitting in the living room of his industrial-modern house in Venice, Calif., an imposing corrugated-metal-sheathed structure filled with pieces from his large modern-art collection. "Somebody said the other night, '"From Easy Rider to E-Ring",' that should be the name of my autobiography.' It is...

LOS ANGELES - Dennis Hopper is a Republican."People would be surprised to know that," says Hopper, maverick star and director of the '69 hippie-stoners-on-bikes classic, Easy Rider, in a recent interview."I've been a Republican since Reagan. I voted for Bush and his father. I don't tell a lot of people, because I live in a city where somebody who voted for Bush is really an outcast."One of Hollywood's legendary enfants terribles, Hopper, 69, is so straight now it's almost scary. He's been sober for 22 years. He plays golf. He wears suits and ties. And now he's...

As an unexpected shower cascades outside, Dennis Hopper walks into the hotel dining-room as if the sun has just burst through the clouds. Wearing jeans, a tie and a powder-blue jacket, he has a huge cigar wedged in his mouth - one of the few vices left to a man who, at his worst, consumed half a gallon of rum, 28 beers and three grams of cocaine a day. Looking more like a movie mogul than the counterculture icon of Easy Rider, he is in celebratory mood. "This is my 50th year in the film business," he announces, his grey...

Dennis Hopper should be hopping mad, some Hollywood actors said this week. Hopper, who organized The Creative Coalition's Ball after the Ball Thursday night as part of the activities surrounding President Bush's inauguration, apparently got a surprise phone call from the Presidential Inaugural Committee Wednesday night - telling him not to come to his own party. "I feel terrible that the White House inaugural committee that invited Dennis decided to disinvite him," "Sopranos" actor Joe Pantoliano told reporters at the event, where the entertainment - aside from mingling with some of Tinseltown's stars - was singer Macy Gray. Hopper reportedly...
