WASHINGTON — Democrats this week will launch a new nationwide campaign attacking the president's Air National Guard duty as more people come forward questioning the authenticity of certain documents purporting to show that a young George W. Bush shirked his military duties over 30 years ago. The Democratic National Committee (search) will launch "Operation Fortunate Son" and will host related events in key battleground states, according to a party spokesman. The party plans to raise questions about fliers from Bush's 1978 congressional campaign in Texas, saying he claimed to have served in the regular Air Force, not just the Guard.
