Putin Defies Trump With Second Nuclear Weapons Test In Days

Russia has successfully tested a nuclear-capable, nuclear-powered underwater drone, President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday, defying US President Donald Trump's warnings with Moscow's second test of a new nuclear weapons system in just a few days.

Putin on Sunday oversaw a test of another advanced nuclear-capable weapon -- the Burevestnik cruise missile, which he said had an "unlimited range". Trump called that exercise not "appropriate".

"Yesterday, another test was conducted for another prospective system -- the unmanned underwater device 'Poseidon,' also equipped with a nuclear power unit," Putin said in televised remarks while visiting a military hospital treating Russian soldiers wounded in Ukraine.

The Russian leader said there was "no way to intercept" the drone torpedo, which, according to Putin, can travel at a speed higher than conventional submarines and reach any continent in the world.

Putin said no country could match Poseidon's speed and diving depth, adding, "it is unlikely that anything similar will appear in the near future."

Putin is trying to be the tough guy. Good luck with that. They are having sh*t ton of trouble fighting a third rate military in Ukraine

I still have a difficult time deciding who’s more stupid - Putin or Zelensky.

While they’re both detestable, Putin seems to be gaining an edge in the stupidity department.

Seems that Putin has a habit of meeting with people and telling them how he can kill with his bare hands. He’s a psychopath pos.

The USAF had a response. Video at link:

Twelve U.S. Air Force B-52H “Stratofortress” Long-Range Strategic Bombers performed a Minimum Interval Takeoff (MITO) earlier today from Dyess Air Force Base in Texas, likely as part of ongoing nuclear exercises under Global Thunder 26.

Smartest thing Trump can do is walk away from Ukraine. Tell the Europeans it's your war. Speaking of the Euroweenies they've been awful quiet lately.

Smartest thing Trump can do is walk away from Ukraine. Tell the Europeans it's your war.

I’ve been advocating that from the get-go.

I knew Biden would keep feeding the war because he and others were up to their corrupt eyeballs in graft with the Ukrainian money laundering machine.

But once Trump got in, I fervently hoped he’d end this thing.

Since it’s obvious that neither Russia nor Ukraine wants it to end, I wish we’d leave them to it, let the Euros deal with it and cut the money supply off completely.

KGB Putin just can’t stop warmongering and replaying the Cold War. Fake and Potemkin Moscow will lose again.

"Putin defies Trump" -- and incidentally also breaking that treaty he signed with W back before 9-11.

I’m kind of surprised that the caution we showed during the Cold War to avert a nuclear holocaust has been cast to the wind.

It’s as if people believe the Russians just forgot how to put together the bomb.

Khrushchev and Kennedy we are not.

That was exactly my thought: Russia’s situation must be worse than I thought.

There’s really no point. If this thing ever gets used (and works), the end result of events is almost certainly the obliteration of the Northern Hemisphere. So much for the security and future of Russia.

“””””I’m kind of surprised that the caution we showed during the Cold War to avert a nuclear holocaust has been cast to the wind.”””””

Russia and America were engaged in combat during the Korean War and the Vietnam War and of course there were other hot spots where we helped arm each other’s enemies, such as in Afghanistan or Grenada and NATO was as tense as it gets during the 80s under Reagan, and of course the Berlin Airlift, and KGB backed terrorist attacks against Americans during the Cold War, there was a lot going on during that supposed cautious period, including some of America’s bloodiest wars of our history, with GIs being killed by Russians and Russian arms.
