Please have patience with me as this is my first post.

I am asking for help from any AOL users. Yesterday when I logged on to AOL to check my e-mail, my eyes were confronted with a John Kerry ad on Macromedia Flash Player, so I sent the following message.

"What are you doing putting Kerry ads on your home page? If they are still there tomorrow I am cancelling my aol account! I am contacting all other aol members I know to tell them about this atrocity and suggest they do the same!"

I received a response from Ada A. at searchfeed@aol.com directing me to a website with instructions on creating a web homepage. Ada evidently misunderstood my complaint, so I sent her the following reply and am waiting for her response.

"Hi, Ada: I mispoke. I meant to say your startpage (startpage@aol.com). Where do I send complaints about ads AOL puts on its startpage?"

Do any AOL users know where to send such complaints? Do I have a legitimate complaint? If so, would you join me in complaining to AOL?

Welcome to FR today.

I've noticed that the Kerry campaign has bought up lots of internet ad space during this election season. Fortunately, most people hate internet ads, popups, etc. I think it will be found to have been a bad use of their bucks.....

Every page on Yahoo has these big flashy ads for Kerry along with a feedback form. Everytime I complain about the ad I get another one somewhere else on the page. Now when I view a News story on yahoo I now get 3 Kerry/DNC ads flashing at me.

Get yourself a real ISP and get rid of AOL. If you have children then AOL may be for you because of its advanced parental controls. Then download Mozilla 1.7 From here and use the Mozilla browser. It automatically blocks pop-ups and has fairly good controls. It's free and you will never go back.

While these ads are annoying, they're paid for. Suggesting that Yahoo or AOL should not be allowed to accept political ads is silly.

The big difference is a subscriber pays for AOL, Yahoo does not. Dump AOL.

Welcome to FR, I quit AOL about seven or eight months ago because of their leftist tendencies and haven't looked back since.

AOL= America oughta be liberal
AOL= A**holes on line

Cheers!

I concur, dump AOL. AOL is the internet on training wheels. Make the big jump to a real ISP or better yet call COMCAST (if in your area) and get the internet at light speed...

to be polite...AOL inhales wind rapidly

Months ago when AOL started allowing members 1 poll vote a month on the Presidential election, I too was a bit ticked to see the pages loaded up with DNC ads. These aren't pop ups, these are on the page ads.

What was fun for me this morning was looking at the poll results, showing W doing quite fine, bordered by DNC beggings for $$$ ! And the ads are so ridiculous looking because they are the 'dethrone' Bush ones where they stick a crown on his head.

Well, I see one ad there...no doubt paid for by the Kerry people. But...what's really ridiculous are the multiple toolbars on your MS Exploder window. Were I you, I'd kill at least two of them.

The top ad rotates, the one on the right is a flash ad that is annoying as all get out, it didnt pickup the ones that are at the bottom of the article.

OK. I agree they're annoying. So change your home page to something else. As for your toolbars, well it's your copy of Internet Exploder.

Has anyone heard the rumor that Karl Rove infected the AOL/Kerry link with a virus that bumps you to the top of the to-be-drafted list?

Just thought it would be fun to give them something to think about before they click over to Kerry HQ.

Dump AOL and get a generic cable or ISDN connection. Enjoy the speed with no nonsense.

The best way to stop the MSM is to stop buying their products.

Remember the AOL map is 80 for Bush. Go look at it. It will make you feel good.
