Posted January 19, 2004 Despite its deceptively warm-and-fuzzy public image, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has donated over $150,000 to criminal activists -- including those jailed for arson, burglary, and even attempted murder. In 2001, PETA donated $1,500 to the North American Earth Liberation Front, a criminal organization that the FBI classifies as "domestic terrorists." And since 2000, rank-and-file PETA activists have been arrested over 80 times for breaking various laws during PETA protests. The animal activist group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has purchased 140 shares of stock in ConAgra Foods Inc. This gives the group a right to speak at annual meetings and to submit shareholder resolutions. ConAgra reported sales of more than $19 billion in 2003. “Animals on factory farms are mutilated, drugged and abused,” says PETA. “Turkeys are jam-packed into crowded warehouses. A big billboard in Spokane, WA, along one of the busiest streets in town, is the latest forum for PETA to spew forth it's idiocy. There's a large cartoon drawing of Santa, with his hand pulling open the waist of his pants, and him looking down into his pants with a sad look on his face. The main caption reads "Santa's not coming this year..." The next line says that Santa's IMPOTENT because he drinks too much MILK!
