The author was on Beck today. She said Daschel had writtin in his book that the next President should sneak health care provisions in some other bill so it wouldn't have to be debated etc. Remember Daschel was nearly the HH Secretary?? In the Stimulus Package the information about the health care information database is in one section, then the section that gives it teeth via the HH Secretary is in another.

With the recent revelation that Cabinet contender Tom Daschal has a tax problem can we see a trend? If Paying Taxes are only for patriotic people, then we have a huge problem in our government. And the problem isn't going away soon. Are these examples of government gone bad too big to fail? We have Charlie Rangel, New York congressman with his tax evasion problem. Nazi Pelousey was going to get to the bottom of his investigation "very soon" last year. Timothy Geithner, the Treasury Secretary "too important to lose during this financial crisis", can't do his own taxes correctly....

WASHINGTON — Want a top job in the Obama administration? Only pack rats need apply, preferably those not packing controversy. A seven-page questionnaire being sent by the office of President-elect Barack Obama to those seeking cabinet and other high-ranking posts may be the most extensive — some say invasive — application ever. The questionnaire includes 63 requests for personal and professional records, some covering applicants’ spouses and grown children as well, that are forcing job-seekers to rummage from basements to attics, in shoe boxes, diaries and computer archives to document both their achievements and missteps. Only the smallest details are...

The Messiah is giving a presser. Some gems: Tom Daschel for Health Sect'y. 35 million Americans lack health coverage. (Before the election the figure was 47 million wasn't it?)

It's safe to say that Senator Tom Daschle was not the most popular figure in Republican circles. In fact, defeating the former Minority Leader will be celebrated for many years to come by the GOP faithful across the country. Senator Daschle was the ringleader of an obstructionist Senate intent on blocking the President's agenda. But if Senator Daschle was a divisive figure at times, his replacement Harry Reid is setting a new standard for political nastiness. Immediately after becoming Minority Leader, Senator Reid launched a "War Room" in his personal office to attack the Republican agenda at every turn. Most...

Politics is a blood sport. If you cannot take the heat, it is best to avoid the political arena altogether. The level of intensity and the ferocity of the attacks increase with the level of the office. For months, the Democratic Presidential candidates have been fighting to represent their party next November. Their attacks have not been limited to their current opponents; they have also taken every possible opportunity to take the offensive against the current President. Here are some examples from the September 4, 2003 Democratic Presidential debate: Joe LiebermanNo planning was done by this administration. I believe it's...

Rush's Plan to make Daschel's wife and ineffective lobbyist is GREAT!I like the way Rush thinks when it comes to HARDBALL politics! Rush's plan to Neuter Puff Daschel by having the House make Puff's wife a useless lobbyer is GREAT! I didn't like the tease Rush was doing on it, but hearing the plan was worth the wait. Anymore ideal about this plan? Think the Republicans in the House will go along with this?

When Senator Tom Daschle, in the grip of post-party depression two weeks after his job as Senate Majority Leader was swept away in the midterm elections, held a press conference in Washington, D.C., he pretended to cast blame for the loss on talk radio in general and Rush Limbaugh in particular. This was preposterous, of course, a hissy fit unbecoming a grown-up much less a senator of these United States. Daschle was ridiculed,--even worse, he was quoted--but much of the media response wasn't quite on target. No one asked him why he had not divulged Limbaugh's nefarious machinations way back...

WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 - American intelligence agencies came under renewed attack in Congress today for failing to find Osama bin Laden, with the increasing certainty that he is still alive prompting senior Democratic senators to brand the effort to dismantle Al Qaeda as a failure. Even as Bush administration officials took the F.B.I. to task for a warning issued on Wednesday about possible attacks on hospitals, the F.B.I. today issued a vague and alarming alert to state and local law enforcement agencies. The alert warned that this week's message, apparently from Mr. bin Laden, plus intelligence reports and recent overseas...
