WASHINGTON Want a top job in the Obama administration? Only pack rats need apply, preferably those not packing controversy. A seven-page questionnaire being sent by the office of President-elect Barack Obama to those seeking cabinet and other high-ranking posts may be the most extensive some say invasive application ever. The questionnaire includes 63 requests for personal and professional records, some covering applicants spouses and grown children as well, that are forcing job-seekers to rummage from basements to attics, in shoe boxes, diaries and computer archives to document both their achievements and missteps.
Only the smallest details are excluded; traffic tickets carrying fines of less than $50 need not be reported, the application says. Applicants are asked whether they or anyone in their family owns a gun. They must include any e-mail that might embarrass the president-elect, along with any blog posts and links to their Facebook pages.

Washington DC will soon be irrelevant. They are broke, bankrupt and we will not take it anymore. There is more of us than them. Obama will be the Custer of the New World Order.
Yeah, but they’re “honest” tax cheats.
Did Bambi fill one out? I wqnt to see it.
I detect typical NY Slimes hypocrisy here. The Bush administration also did extensive background checks on all political appointments. The real difference is that the Bush administration didn’t attempt to appoint anybody with questionable or derogatory information, e.g. unpaid taxes. For the NY Slimes, invasive background checks are a problem ONLY when they’re done to Democrats.
Or at least the transgressions that would land the rest of us in prison.
Sounds like he is creating his own FBI files.
“There is more of us than them. “
I wish you were correct — we are so splintered, it has to be ‘my way’ or no way!
So many of the President Reagan followers seem to forget the, and I’m paraphrasing, statement — Agree with me 80% of the time and I would be happy.
I don’t know how many times I have read this last month the threat of -— if they don’t vote and think my way I’m leaving the Republican party!!!
Who ever ‘those’ people are - they have done alot of damage to President Reagans’ Republican Party.
The fly in the ointment here, is the dOpey-One hasn’t had to tell us jack.
Well. Why have any faith in a Party. Now is the time for individual action. I for one am joining the W-4 Revolution and changing to 15. Let em try to collect. Individualism is the key. Stand your ground and deliver. Do not wait for a “leader”
You forgot the word “corrupt” in your description of Washington.
