LA GRANGE, IL – A Brookfield woman who wanted to administer justice involving "an eye for an eye" attacked others earlier this month at a La Grange gym, local police said. Karen T. Olowu, 27, was accused of spray-painting a car in the back of Absolution CrossFit, 700 E. Elm Ave., and then pouring a beer on a person's head. This information came from a police report that Patch obtained through a public records request. The incident was shortly after noon March 4. Embattled CrossFit CEO Greg Glassman is resigning after he sparked outrage over his response to nationwide protests against racial injustice and police brutality. In a statement Tuesday, Glassman said he decided to retire after he "created a rift in the CrossFit community and unintentionally hurt many of its members."... Glassman that day criticized a statement from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation calling racism a public health issue by responding "Floyd-19." In a follow-up tweet, Glassman said the health research institute's coronavirus model "failed," and he criticized it for modeling a "solution to racism."

Hundreds of mud-covered participants darted from one obstacle to the next as they competed in the grueling eight-mile Super Spartan Race yesterday at Wolfe's Pond Park, as part of the Spartan Race Challenge. Under the Spartan Race banner, there are four different obstacle courses with varying degrees of "extremeness," starting with the Spartan Sprint, then the Super Spartan followed by The Spartan Beast and -- the most extreme -- The Death Race.
