FLOYD BROWN, INTRODUCTION: Well, when you look at the landscape, the political landscape in America, every once in a while, men of principle come along--and this morning's speaker is one of those men of principle. In the mold of Ronald Reagan, and other key conservatives that have been consistent and upheld to their principles, our speaker is probably one of the most powerful advocates for the life of the unborn, he's one of the most powerful advocates for true conservative principles. You see him on television, you hear him on the radio, he now is currently writing a book, and...

Online Activism -- that’s a hot topic right now. I know that because a New York Times reporter called me about it… which proves that it’s hot. This was about three weeks ago. And what she wanted to know is what we conservatives are going to do, now that The Amazing Doctor Dean has demonstrated that the Internet can be used for political activism. I asked her… have you ever heard of Free Republic? --No, what’s that? You ever hear of Town Hall? -- No. You ever hear of ConservativeHQ.com? -- No. She never heard of any of this stuff....

The week leading up to the DC Chapter's first year as a paying exhibitor at CPAC was hectic, with everyone working long into the night at their homes, printing up flyers, burning DVDs, compiling PowerPoint presentations, printing photos and business cards, and in Doctor Raoul's case, organizing his bags of tricks and getting t-shirts printed. There were times that some of us wondered if we could pull it all together for CPAC and still keep our families and jobs; but it all fell into place on Wednesday evening as we gathered to set up. Angelwood brought a wide assortment of...

ArchiveE-mail AuthorSend to a Friend Print Version JAN. 26, 2004: WAKE UP Thunder on the Right “A Concerned Bloc of Republicans Wonders Whether Bush is Conservative Enough.” That was the headline on the New York Times’ report on this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference – and the story that followed was an acute piece of journalism. I’m in the middle of my second book tour in the space of twelve months. I’ve been traveling from one talk-radio station to another, listening both to the callers and the hosts, when the mikes are on and when the mikes are...

Immigration Plan Splits Conservatives ARLINGTON, Va. – President Bush's controversial immigration program produced a rhetorical head-on collision, as “compassionate conservatism” slammed into national security, at a conservative gathering this past weekend. At the concluding session of the three-day Conservative Political Action Conference, thousands of grassroots activists Saturday gave spirited responses as the president’s program was alternately described as “compassionate conservatism at its best” and “a stupid mistake we should not make again.” Daniel Griswold of the libertarian Cato Institute said today’s immigration statutes...

Post your CPAC reports and pictures HERE! CPAC this year was fantastic! This year there we had between 60 and 70 Freepers there, and those were just the ones I was able to count. What was new for this year, was that there was an FR booth; our Canadian Operatives, FREE DOMINION had a booth; the DC chapter had a booth, and the new media operation Rightalk with carries Radio Free Republic had a booth, in addition to broadcasting the whole convention and interviewing top notch conservatives pundits and figures. The FR booth was filled with pictures from the Rally...

CPAC officially opens tomorrow, so here we are today setting up the booths. There are three -- count 'em -- three Freeper booths at CPAC this year. FR/FRN has one, the DC Chapter has a booth, and this year our affiliate in Canada, Free Dominion also has booth. So there are lots of Freepers from all over North America here.
