President Donald Trump has bestowed upon the nation of Qatar a remarkable security guarantee that could include coming to its defense militarily. In an executive order dated earlier this week, Trump declared that the United States will regard any attack on Qatar’s territory, sovereignty or critical infrastructure “as a threat to the peace and security of the United States” itself. And perhaps most crucially, the order suggests the US might come to Qatar’s defense militarily.

CNN cut away from Joe Biden after he got in a female reporter’s face, suggested he’s not mentally stable and claimed he can “beat the hell” out of Jake Tapper. 82-year-old Biden delivered remarks at a Memorial Day Event in New Castle, Delaware, on Friday. This is the first time Biden has spoken publicly since his cancer diagnosis. Or rather, since Biden admitted he has metastatic cancer. Medical experts believe Biden may have been suffering from prostate cancer for years. Of course, Biden made the Memorial Day speech about himself and implied his son, Beau, died while serving in Iraq....

A federal judge ruled against the Trump administration in the case that alleged fraud in a Biden-era clean energy program, unfreezing roughly $20 billion in funding meant to support projects like new solar energy arrays and efficiency upgrades for small businesses. Judge Tanya Chutkan on Tuesday ruled in favor of the eight nonprofits that sued Citibank and the Trump administration, finding that the Environmental Protection Agency unlawfully terminated the program. Chutkan ordered the congressionally appropriated funds to be unfrozen at 2 p.m. Thursday and distributed to the nonprofits they were originally intended for. The Trump administration said it will appeal....

A massive wave of job cuts got underway at US health agencies early Tuesday, with some employees receiving early morning emails that their jobs were eliminated and some unable to access the building when they arrived at work... At the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the entire Office of Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights – which handles issues of diversity, civil rights and a supportive work environment – was let go, according to a former HHS employee. The notices sent to staffers in the office suggested that they contact the former director of the office if they had a...

VIDEONothing better illustrates the Democrats taking the losing side of an 80/20 divide than the public reaction to the House Sergeant At Arms being forced to REMOVE a howling lunatic Wolfman aka Al Green from the House Chamber during President Trump's speech. The divide on unfavorable to favorable reactions was EXACTLY 80/20 as you can see with the Democrats once again being on the LOSING side.

Less than three years before Elon Musk tapped him to take part in a sweeping overhaul of the US government, Edward Coristine, then 17, was the subject of a heated dispute between two executives at the Arizona-based cybersecurity firm where he was an intern. At issue was whether to allow Coristine to keep his job even though he was suspected of leaking proprietary information to a competitor. “You’re willing to risk our entire network to a 17-year-old?” one frustrated executive asked the company’s CEO in 2022. “Are you for real right now?” In a recording of the call, reviewed by...

In an unprecedented purge of the military’s senior leadership Friday night, President Donald Trump fired the top US general just moments before his defense secretary fired the chief of the US Navy and the vice chief of the Air Force. Trump announced he was dismissing Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Q. Brown and replacing him with Air Force Lt. Gen. John Dan “Razin” Caine – an extraordinary move since Caine is retired, according to an Air Force official, and is not a four-star general.SNIP“Finally, I have also directed Secretary [of Defense Pete] Hegseth to solicit nominations for...

After nearly three weeks in the minority, Democrats have finally settled on a target to rally against: Elon Musk. The party and allied groups this week have shown up at the doors of agencies impacted by Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, held rallies and press conferences calling the president’s ally an “unelected billionaire,” and introduced legislation to push back on the administration’s efforts to eliminate agencies and force out federal employees. The coordinated effort comes after weeks of Democrats grappling with how to oppose the new administration after a bruising election in which President Donald Trump made gains with key...

At least six senior FBI leaders have been ordered to retire, resign or be fired by Monday, according to sources briefed on the matter, extending a purge that began last week at the Justice Department across the street from the FBI headquarters. The senior officials are at the executive assistant director level or special agent in charge level and include those who oversee cyber, national security and criminal investigations, the sources told CNN. Some were notified while Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the agency, sat answering questions from senators for his confirmation hearing Thursday. Trump transition officials...

In 2020, then-Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard introduced legislation calling on the federal government to drop all charges against Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency contractor who in 2013 revealed the existence of the bulk collection of American phone records by the NSA before fleeing to Russia. On Thursday, she refused under persistent questioning by Republican and Democratic lawmakers on the Senate Intelligence Committee to say whether she now believed Snowden’s actions were traitorous. Gabbard’s repeated dodges during her nomination hearing to become President Donald Trump’s director of national intelligence may have further imperiled a nomination that already appeared to be...

CNN senior political data reporter Harry Enten said Monday on “News Central” that Americans don’t understand the connection between climate change and wildfires. Host John Berman said, “Just a few minutes ago, you heard FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell talking about the role that climate change has in helping create the conditions for these wildfires burning out of control, the most destructive in some ways that we’ve ever seen in and around Los Angeles. So how do Americans feel about climate change and the danger it poses? Do they feel the same way that they used to?” Enten said, “I mean,...

Less than a week after a 15-year-old girl shot and killed two at a Madison, Wisconsin, Christian school, CNN went all in to shame fathers out of buying hunting rifles for their sons. Breitbart News noted the alleged Abundant Life Christian School shooter used a handgun, and Madison Chief of Police Shon Barnes later said she actually had two handguns in her possession. CNN reported that the origins of the two handguns in the girl’s possession have been traced but cannot be made public at this time because of the ongoing investigation.

Much of the federal workforce is on edge and bracing itself for the likelihood its ranks will be purged when President-elect Donald Trump takes office. Trump, who has derided civil servants as agents of the “deep state,” promised on the campaign trail to reinstate a 2020 executive order known as Schedule F, giving him the power to commence mass firings of nonpartisan federal employees who might spoil Trump’s partisan plans. “The objective is to create space to put loyalists in what were, what are still, career civil service positions,” former Trump appointee Ronald Sanders – who resigned over Trump’s politicization...

CNN — The bodies of six hostages held by Hamas have been recovered in an underground tunnel in Gaza, Israel’s military said Sunday. The captives, including an Israeli American, were among the more than 200 people taken by the militants into Gaza following their deadly cross-border rampage on October 7. Five of them were taken from an Israeli music festival where hundreds were killed and dozens more were kidnapped by Hamas fighters. The sixth was captured from a nearby farming community, according to the Hostages Families Forum, which has coordinated efforts to highlight the plight of the captives and their...

MSNBC contributor Claire McCaskill said Monday on “Deadline” that the Republican National Convention was a “testosterone-laden grievance machine,” while praising the first night of the Democratic National Convention. McCaskill said, “Look at the split screen, between the Republican convention and this one so far. The Republican convection was a testosterone laden grievance machine. Trump coming out to the song “Men Rule the World” and Hulk Hogan ripping off his shirt and you know it was just ridiculous. It is like women don’t have the right to vote.”

The Supreme Court’s decision on Friday to discard the 40-year-old precedent established by Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council is a truly harsh blow against environmental protection and climate justice. By overruling the Chevron doctrine that required courts to defer to federal agencies when it came to implementing broadly written laws, the Supreme Court will make it much more difficult for the federal government to regulate pollution — including, but by no means limited to greenhouse gas emissions — among many other issues related to health, labor, consumer welfare, taxation, and on and on. I am profoundly upset at the...

On Monday’s broadcast of “CNN News Central,” co-host Sara Sidner stated that “the economy is doing well, by all measures.” Even though “the prices are high” and said that some Republicans haven’t been giving credit to President Joe Biden for improvements to roads and bridges under the infrastructure law. While speaking with Biden Campaign Co-Chair Mitch Landrieu, Sidner said, “Look, the economy is doing well, by all measures. Yes, the prices are high. There was also the infrastructure bill that was pushed through that some Republicans in their states have been touting, not giving the credit, of course, to Joe...

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace said Thursday on her show “Deadline” that former President Donald Trump’s visit to the U.S. Capitol was like “an arsonist admiring something he sought to burn down.” Wallace said, “Congressman, quick question, some of the law enforcement officials who protected the Capitol, the Democratic and Republican members who work inside of it, have become well known to our viewers, Harry Dunn and Officer Gonell and others, I imagine some others we don’t know as well were there today when Donald Trump was there, we liken it to an arsonist admiring something he sought to burn down....

House Speaker Mike Johnson has the fate of a democracy and a people in his hands. It’s not the United States, which will survive – even if the coming general election results in another existential test for the constitutional system. The country Johnson has the power to save is Ukraine, two years after Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded, decreeing that it didn’t have the right to exist. Ukraine’s soldiers – trapped in a World War I-style hellscape of trench warfare – are running out of bullets. There are signs that Russia may be about to break a stalemate and tip...

Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner believes that Donald Trump will eventually be convicted—revealing in a Sunday morning interview which ongoing investigation he predicts will result in such unprecedented legal consequences for a former president.Trump faces a slew of legal battles and investigations, with two of them now being overseen by a special counsel appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland on November 18. One of those Justice Department probes is looking into whether the former president is criminally liable for the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, and his efforts to unconstitutionally overturn President Joe Biden's 2020 election win.The Justice...
