Simms, a son of former New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms, called the case against him "very weak" as he left a Manhattan courthouse after his arraignment on charges of driving while impaired by drugs. A Tribune staff report Published: Sep 24, 2006 Bucs QB Chris Simms was admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital in critical condition because of injuries suffered in today's loss to the Carolina Panthers. The nature of his injuries has not yet been disclosed. Simms briefly left the game in the third quarter to take treatment for deyhdration.
