The official start of summertime in Chicago began violently, with nine people dead and at least 34 others injured in shootings across the city. Among those injured was a 4-year-old girl, identified by family as Jacele Johnson, who was shot in the head while sitting inside a car outside of a prom party Friday evening. The incident happened at about 8 p.m. near West 70th and South Justine streets in the West Englewood neighborhood.
