The Oklahoman reports that Lawrence Paul Anderson has been arrested for the deaths of three people and the assault on another. According to police, Anderson killed his neighbor on February 9, then went to his home and killed his uncle and 4-year-old niece (pictured right). He allegedly stabbed his aunt in both eyes but she survived. ... The incident has caused outrage among the community since Anderson is a convicted felon who was released from prison after the governor commuted his sentence to nine years. An Oklahoma man who had been released early from prison in January as part of a mass commutation effort is now accused of three killings, including the death of a neighbor whose heart he cut out, authorities said. A judge denied bail Tuesday for Lawrence Paul Anderson, who faces three counts of first-degree murder, one count of assault and one count of maiming for the attack this month in Chickasha, about 35 miles (55 kilometers) southwest of Oklahoma.

A repeat felon has confessed to killing his neighbor, cutting out her heart and feeding it to his family before murdering his uncle and a four-year-old girl, Oklahoma authorities say.

CHICKASHA, Okla. -- Laron Short returned to her family home in Chickasha Monday night after a five-month trip to Australia ready to tell her friends and family about her new love, a man she met while abroad. Short, 24, never got the chance. She died Tuesday when a tornado destroyed her mother's mobile home. Her death has been “shattering” to the small close-knit college in Chickasha where Short graduated in December, said J.C.
