Aerodynamics play a pivotal role in the automotive industry, with its importance becoming even more pronounced in the era of electric vehicles. Efficient aerodynamics are crucial for several reasons, and first and foremost, they impact a vehicle's energy efficiency, which is paramount for EVs. Put simply, streamlined design reduces drag, allowing battery-powered cars to overcome resistance more easily and travel further on a single charge. This leads us to the machine you see depicted here. It is Chery’s latest electric concept, which apparently has a drag coefficient of 0.168. The Aero prototype has been developed using AI simulations and Chery...

Land Rover just launched their Chinese-built Evoque at the Guangzhou Auto Show, while a few feet away, copycat LandWind X7 offered the same design at quarter of the price. AWKWARD!! This Is Not A Range Rover Evoque - But rather its Chinese cousin, the Landwind X7 Understandably, JLR is about to file a complaint to Chinese officials now regarding IP theft. I say good luck with that, but one can sure feel bad for Jaguar Land Rover. They put their money in a joint venture with Chinese manufacturer Chery to start the Evoque's local production, and this is what they...

JACAREI, Brazil—Chery Automobile Co., one of China's biggest auto makers, on Tuesday began construction of its first factory in Brazil in hopes of expanding its share in the world's fourth-largest auto market. Its factory, located in the city of Jacarei about 100 kilometers from Sao Paulo, will begin producing about 50,000 vehicles a year by the end of 2013 and expand to expand to as many as 170,000 vehicles a year, Luis Curi, chief executive of the company's Brazilian unit, said Tuesday. The Jacarei plant will lead to the arrival of about 20 Chinese parts suppliers, as well as local...

This is a picture of the Chery QQ. It is made in CHINA. There is one on a USED CAR LOT near my house in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Price: $2400. They have no dealerships or distribution network in the USA. They had proposed to sell these cars here back in 2005. They had deals with Chrysler and later Nissan, but since the 2008 crash and subsequent government takeover of Chrysler, that deal has died. As far as I know, this model has not passed any EPA or NHSTA tests in order to be allowed to be imported. They...

US auto giant General Motors (GM) filed a lawsuit against China's Chery Automobile Co for alleged piracy of a mini car developed by its South Korean affiliate Daewoo. The lawsuit, launched in the name of GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co Ltd, contends Chery's QQ copied the design of Daewoo's Matiz while Chery claims it developed the QQ on its own. GM's investigation results showed the two vehicles "shared remarkably identical body structure, exterior design, interior design and key components," GM China Group said in a statement on Thursday night. GM's joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC) and...

Now that Michael Vick is going to plead guilty to a conspiracy charge related to the dog fighting allegations against him, he is likely to be suspended from the National Football League, possibly for life. He and his co-defendants (who have already pleaded guilty) should rest assured, however, that a multitude of job opportunities await them that will make extensive use of their unique talents. As reported by the Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/24/AR2007082402081.html?hpid=topnews), In or about April 2007, PEACE, PHILLIPS, VICK, and two others “rolled” or “tested” additional “Bad Newz Kennels” dogs by putting the dogs through fighting sessions at 1915...

Chrysler, with a new owner and a new boss, is placing a big bet on a fledgling Chinese automaker. The Chery A1 is a cute little car. It's a four-door hatchback, with a 1.3-liter engine, dual air bags and antilock brakes. The two-tone interior, with air-conditioning, power windows and a CD player, is surprisingly appealing for a car that sells for just over $7,000 in China. It may not quite live up to American standards. The engine needs refinement, and some parts don't fit as well as they should--not to mention concerns about the safety of anything made in China...

It took Chery about six years to make its first 500,000 vehicles, and only 17 months to complete the second half million. The millionth car is an A3 four-door hatchback, which made its debut at last year's Beijing auto show and is expected to go on the market later this year. The compact...

In one of the few crash-tests to date of a Chinese-made vehicle outside China, a Chery Amulet sedan's front end folded like a concertina in a recent trial here. The Russian car magazine that organized the test said it was one of the worst performances ever and called upon Chery Automobile Co. to withdraw...

DETROIT (Reuters) - DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group (XETRA:DCXGN.DE - News; NYSE:DCX - News) could link up with a Chinese automaker to launch a new small car as Chrysler works to conclude a review of potential partners in the coming weeks, Chief Executive Tom LaSorda said on Monday. Chinese companies are racing to enter the U.S. auto market. One manufacturer previewed this week at the North American International Auto Show, and another plans to hit dealerships by the end of next year. "For sure, nobody needs another manufacturer, if all we were going to do was manufacture another car. But we are going to make a dramatic change in the price [structure] of higher-priced cars," said Malcolm Bricklin, the 66-year-old chief executive of Visionary Vehicles, a New York City company that has long-term plans to sell 1 million cars a year built by China's Chery Automobile Co. in...
