She’s still unburdened by what has been. Vice President Kamala Harris dropped one of her word-salad catchphrases during a campaign stop in Pittsburgh, Pa. — despite facing widespread mockery over the meme-worthy soundbite. The Democratic presidential candidate, 59, ignited social media after slipping her “unburdened” rallying cry into her speech to union workers on Monday night. “We have dreams. We can see what is possible, unburdened by what has been,” Harris said. Critics were quick to seize on the moment on social media, with some noting the “word salad extraordinaire is at it again.” “Kamala gets flustered, defaults to her...

The White House’s newest economic catchphrase to blunt the force of a potential recession in 2023 is to tell the American people that it is not “inevitable.” On Sunday, members of President Joe Biden’s team told the establishment media four separate times that inflation is not inevitable, despite polling and data that suggest a probability of recession.

This "Time of Great Uncertainty". "These Uncertain Times". Notice how this terminology is ubiquitous now? It's everywhere. Last night there were earthquakes and the local news opened with that story. The anchor says, in this time of Great Uncertainty there have been a series of earthquakes. Then the commercials. Hyundai does a commercial for their car, says "in these uncertain times". Next it's Sprint, again, "in these uncertain times".

The Oral Minority A reader called our attention to a pair of strangely similar quotes from Democratic senators. On March 5, North Dakota's Byron Dorgan said of President Bush's Social Security ideas, ''This is a big wet kiss to Wall Street." Then, last Thursday, Nevada's Harry Reid, the minority leader, said of Majority Leader Bill Frist's filibuster compromise, "It's a big wet kiss to the far right." We found several other examples of liberals referring to their opponents' actions as "wet kisses": h Park Conservatives: The Revolt Against Liberal Media Bias,' by an C. Andersonthe conservative think tank the Manhattan...
