Portalnd Maine City Council held an Excutive Session on Wednesday evening and decided to move forward to accept $18 million in federal funds for airport improvements, despite a requirement that the funds require the city to cooperate with ICE.

The requirement was added to the contract after the council had approved the award in Janaury.

Mayor Dion is the most center member of the council and was supported by the more conservative groups in town.

Personally, I am not happy that they held the executive session. This should have all been hashed out in public. There is nothing the corporation council could have told them that would have been secret. The contract had already been approved.

California is leading a coalition with 19 other states in a lawsuit against the Trump administration for transferring Medicaid data to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which houses U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Democrat Attorney General Rob Bonta said the federal lawsuit filed Tuesday in the Northern District of California represents the 28th time in 23 weeks – or more than once a week – that California is challenging the president in court.
