Is this photo supposed to be of Alligator Alcatraz? When you look at Dade-Collier on google earth the layout of that airport doesn’t look anything like this photo.

Remember when we were training Iranian controllers at Keesler and our RAPCONs? Were not very good controllers either.

Flew more than once on a C-130 during my career. Man was not made to fly sideways on lawn furniture. That, and no toilet.

Back in the mid 70’s the US military commissaries and exchanges in Europe did away with the penny. It was just too expensive to fly the coins to Europe. Costs that ended in a 1 or 2 were rounded down, those that ended in 3 or 4 were rounded up. Didn’t seem to cause any problems.

That is true. When I was stationed in Germany I visited several US Military Cemeteries, both from WW1 and WW2. They are immaculate.

No, during my service time the aircraft would fly with the call sign “Sam”, short for Special Air Mission. Not sure if that call sign is still in use.
