Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) is set to join President Trump during a Tuesday visit at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base in the Great Lakes State, the White House said.
The appearance comes just a couple of weeks after Whitmer took heat from both sides of the aisle for a White House visit earlier this month, her second since the inauguration. After Trump brought the governor into the Oval Office during an executive order signing involving her state, a photo of Whitmer appearing to hide her face behind folders garnered ridicule and underscored the tough political terrain of the Democrats’ working relationship with the president.
One of the topics she aimed to discuss with Trump during that trip was funding for the Selfridge Air National Guard Base, where the president will make his first stop in Michigan on Tuesday.
The trip marks Trump’s first visit to the battleground state, which he flipped red in November, since a rally in Grand Rapids the day before the election. It also marks his first major domestic trip of his second term.
Trump is then set to stop by Macomb County’s Community College Sports Expo Center and hold a rally to celebrate hitting the benchmark of his first 100 days back in office.

At one point Selfridge was supposed to get the C-27J Spartan, but that program was cancelled and they received C-130s instead.
I believe today they fly the A-10C, which is being phased out, and the KC-135. Their only hope is to be assigned either an F-35A wing, a KC-46 wing, or both.

had to look that one up. Thought “that looks like a shrunken C130”, then noted it’s Alenia Aeronatica (Italian) and Lockheed.

Had to ride a C-130 from Frankfurt Germany to Little Rock Arkansas. Long, slow, noisy ride. Took two fuel stops. The plane WILL get you there, you probably won’t enjoy it.

Instead of being a complete a-hole like Prickster is, some smarter Dems will realize that if they are the Dem who can work with Trump, they will be the Dem most likely to get votes from some of Trump’s supporters.

Flew more than once on a C-130 during my career. Man was not made to fly sideways on lawn furniture. That, and no toilet.
