Mr G works in the music business, and worked with Pink Floyd. At the end of the job David Gilmore came in with a stack of t shirts and sweatshirts to hand out to all the crew.

Michael McDonald is a sweetheart. The Judds were always very nice. Michael Jackson was like a nine year old, but very nice. Just isolated from the entire world.

I started a long response to your last post, but deleted it. I was going to take apart that “white rabbit” post that you seem to rely on as “factual” for your damning of Dolly. I mean, right off the bat he starts with “this many capital letters but that wasn’t really it, it was a mirror so it was that number and this happened 3 minutes later and on an on and on. And the twisting and turning and stretching of facts and 800 tangent facts that were about the other guy, not Dolly but they insinuate that they apply to her. (BTW her real manager is a guy here in Nashville. I have no idea what the one he keeps referring to did for her) Have you ever known someone who found Satan under every leaf?

I could go on about how he stretches the connections and importance of those things, but it’s too exhausting. She was a business woman. She did business. It’s very hard to find only saints to work with. What I can tell you is that music business in Nashville is not connected to the music business in Hollywood. I can tell you that many people here are successful and not part of the cabal. (Mr G and I are exhibit A) I can tell you that Dolly was a genuinely nice person who cared deeply for others. I can tell you that she did hugely good things for many many people, many of whom I personally know. I can also tell you that if she was a satanist, she was a pretty crappy one. She inspired people to love one another. She inspired them to talk about Jesus. She inspired them to be kind to one another. She inspired them to do good for one another. Was she perfect? Nope. But she was a good person.

God does not require Satan’s permission to promote someone to icon status. Look at President Trump! But Satan sure would like to sully any that God promotes. So I guess we will just need to agree to disagree. And now, since I even made a typo in my “in” post, I guess it’s time to return to lurk mode.

Yes, I did pick my name because of the music industry. However, I am also a grammy, so that didn’t hurt.

Ransomnote, I would never ever want to disagree with you, but tonight I’m afraid I must. Because I really don’t want this to be a knock down drag out battle of any sort, and really don’t want to drag it into next month’s thread I have chosen to answer you in festival.

I believe you are quite mistaken about Dolly, and I will tell you why. All of your accusations are based on presumption (flags), loose association (manager) and status (no one makes it without “their” say so).

Are there bad guys in Hollywood? You betcha. Are there bad guys in the music business? You betcha. But there is a difference here. Hollywood is a closed society. All the deals are done there by all the same people. The music business is different. The bad guys in the music business are based in California. ( Clive Davis, P Diddy, Quincy Jones etc) But there is also a base of the business in Nashville, New York and Chicago. Power is not centrally located. Therefore it is possible to escape the total clutches of the cabal.

Dolly was not some simple sheep who went along to get success. She was a smart strong business woman who worked her butt off and whose goal was to make money and help people. Elvis wanted to record “I will always love you” back when she was still young in the business but Tom Parker (his manager) demanded half her publishing. She told him no. Now think about that. She’s young, wants to be a star, but she’s not willing to give up her song. It took guts to turn down the “king” of that time. I know many many (many) people who have given up publishing and seriously regret it. But they were willing to compromise in order to achieve some level of success. She was not.

Guilt by association.... this is foolishness. I read that post on her manager. Gosh was that “evidence” against Dolly silly and thin. My car mechanic might be a swinger! Does that make me part of it because he has worked on my car for years? Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman used to be my neighbors. Does that make me a party to their divorce? Mr G has been in the studio with Quincy, and * I * have attended a speech by Clive Davis. Are we satanists? Mr G even worked on the music for “Best little whorehouse”. Is he part of the cabal?

Not everyone who is a successful artist is there because they were “allowed”. Some are there in spite of the cabal. Some are there because God has appointed them to be there. And Dolly didn’t use adrenochrome. She used surgery, botox, wigs and makeup. She was very honest about it all. When she wasn’t on stage, she looked like a tiny little old woman.

The biggest testimony about Dolly is her character. The woman has sent children over 300 MILLION books for free. She hasn’t captured children. She has taught them to read. She elevated the entire population of East Tennessee with Dollywood.... her family and her friends and neighbors all, and she has provided good wholesome entertainment in the process. She donated hundreds of millions of dollars to kids, schools, hospitals, relief for victims of tragedy. Much of it was done quietly. If she gave to the wrong place, (Vanderbilt) it was done out of love and a desire to help. She worked out a “buddy” system in a high school to get kids to graduate. If you both graduate, you both get paid. Then she added college money to the mix. She changed the drop out rate in that county.

She lived in Nashville. I know the people who worked with her in the studio... managers, musicians, engineers, assistants, and she worked in lots of different studios. Not one person has a bad word to say about her. The bakery where she shopped, the fast food place where she picked up chicken, her neighbors, my very dear friend whose family had dinner with her several months ago.... not one has a bad word about her. The driveway in front of her house is packed with tributes from just plain people. You cannot be as evil as you say she was and not give off some hint of it.

The reason they want to name the airport after her is because the people of Nashville want it. They started a petition, and the politicians jumped on it. She really was loved by all.

As they say..... sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I guess it is time for me to de-lurk and enter the fray.

This discussion about Dolly being satanic has been intense and strange to me even though I have never really been a fan.

A little about Mr G and me. Mr G has been in the music business for over 64 years. He has worked with nobodies and huge names in many corners of the world. He has been called a legend by some in the industry. I have been his better half and partner for 55 years.

We have been Christian for over 50 years, both of us returning to the Lord as adults. One of our commitments has been to NOT be the normal music biz ....mmmm .... jerks, (yeah, that’s it.... jerk) The music business is controlled by a Jezebel spirit that is designed to break your heart. It just oozes through the atmosphere here. Betrayal will come from your friends, not your competition and it is tough to not be part of that, while working with it. It is the very embodiment of being “in the world, not of the world”.

We have walked away from many things that started good, but turned slimy. It has cost us money and heartbreak. But there is no deal we have been a part of where we feel the need to explain it to Jesus. So it IS possible to maintain your integrity while working in the music industry. I believe that Dolly did just that.

Mr G has worked with Dolly. I have many friends who also have connections with her, some close connections, some minor. Never have I heard one word of nasty about her. Every person I know has only had good things to say about her.

The public knows about a lot of her big charity work. They don’t know about the little things she also did. The letter to the marching band that did her music, the purchase of band uniforms, the little gifts to “nobodies”. The kind words and prayer.

Some of the evidence of her satanism? Sharing a room with her best friend? What better way to keep some dude from knocking on her door? Besides, it’s lonely on the road by yourself.

Her manager might be a slime ball? Do you know how much time one spends with their manager? Very very little. We have also worked with slime balls. You can’t always avoid them.

Holding Miley’s hand and crying? If I was her Godmother and saw the choices she was making I would hold her hand and cry too.... on stage or not.

Donating to the vax? That was very early in the crisis, and she was trying to help. The general public really had no idea what was going on at first, and I’m sure she never had Freerepublic to read so didn’t know how things started or how they were going.

Supporting gays? In this business she had many around her who were, who she probably loved as people. She was trying to love her friends. We should probably not take theological direction from an entertainer. However, she did try to “love others as I have loved you”.

Satan will not do anything that causes people to draw near to Jesus. He will not stand and sing “He’s alive and I’m forgiven”.... Dolly lifted an entire region of the country and helped millions learn to read. She funded hospitals. She gave people a chance to change their lives. She also had a chapel on her property. Satan will not sing hymns and testify as to the goodness of God. Satan cannot hide who he is. If Dolly was a satanist, she did a really bad job.

And I do know about Satanism and CSA. I spent quite a while with a girl who was the victim of CSA and had multiple personality disorder as a result, so I am not some naive “fan”.

Mr G (also 78) climbed Grand Teton on his 54th birthday. He would give anything to do any kind of climbing again, however, after 5 years of serious back issues I’ve told him if he so much as stands on a ladder I will hurt him.
