I guess it is time for me to de-lurk and enter the fray.

This discussion about Dolly being satanic has been intense and strange to me even though I have never really been a fan.

A little about Mr G and me. Mr G has been in the music business for over 64 years. He has worked with nobodies and huge names in many corners of the world. He has been called a legend by some in the industry. I have been his better half and partner for 55 years.

We have been Christian for over 50 years, both of us returning to the Lord as adults. One of our commitments has been to NOT be the normal music biz ....mmmm .... jerks, (yeah, that’s it.... jerk) The music business is controlled by a Jezebel spirit that is designed to break your heart. It just oozes through the atmosphere here. Betrayal will come from your friends, not your competition and it is tough to not be part of that, while working with it. It is the very embodiment of being “in the world, not of the world”.

We have walked away from many things that started good, but turned slimy. It has cost us money and heartbreak. But there is no deal we have been a part of where we feel the need to explain it to Jesus. So it IS possible to maintain your integrity while working in the music industry. I believe that Dolly did just that.

Mr G has worked with Dolly. I have many friends who also have connections with her, some close connections, some minor. Never have I heard one word of nasty about her. Every person I know has only had good things to say about her.

The public knows about a lot of her big charity work. They don’t know about the little things she also did. The letter to the marching band that did her music, the purchase of band uniforms, the little gifts to “nobodies”. The kind words and prayer.

Some of the evidence of her satanism? Sharing a room with her best friend? What better way to keep some dude from knocking on her door? Besides, it’s lonely on the road by yourself.

Her manager might be a slime ball? Do you know how much time one spends with their manager? Very very little. We have also worked with slime balls. You can’t always avoid them.

Holding Miley’s hand and crying? If I was her Godmother and saw the choices she was making I would hold her hand and cry too.... on stage or not.

Donating to the vax? That was very early in the crisis, and she was trying to help. The general public really had no idea what was going on at first, and I’m sure she never had Freerepublic to read so didn’t know how things started or how they were going.

Supporting gays? In this business she had many around her who were, who she probably loved as people. She was trying to love her friends. We should probably not take theological direction from an entertainer. However, she did try to “love others as I have loved you”.

Satan will not do anything that causes people to draw near to Jesus. He will not stand and sing “He’s alive and I’m forgiven”.... Dolly lifted an entire region of the country and helped millions learn to read. She funded hospitals. She gave people a chance to change their lives. She also had a chapel on her property. Satan will not sing hymns and testify as to the goodness of God. Satan cannot hide who he is. If Dolly was a satanist, she did a really bad job.

And I do know about Satanism and CSA. I spent quite a while with a girl who was the victim of CSA and had multiple personality disorder as a result, so I am not some naive “fan”.
