They would love us to turn on the most effective politician to the right of Teddy Kennedy. Is it wrong for a governor to be informed about a potentially volatile event in his jurisdiction? Does Trump oppose the FBI more so than DeSantis? Haven’t seen evidence of that.

Many many years ago, 60 Minutes showed a few seconds of the extraction procedure. The still-warm body is utterly ransacked as much as any chicken ever was before dinner.

While I have some bad habits, insobriety is not one of them. It was revealing to learn from watching a friend, however, how some seem to process intoxicants differently. The euphoria wears off and it’s like being cold for them. The urge to reconnect is primal, like seeking warmth.

For me, it’s not willpower that keeps me sober. I just can’t imagine getting anything done while wasted.

Whatever. Every night this revmom insults my intelligence (limited though it is) with this “ruZZians” crap.

It’s not hinky to read over the years. Maybe people think the “ruZZians” crap is witty and on point. This kind of posting strikes me as programmatic and in contrast to the kind of posting that is normal around here. If you love it, more power to you. I shouldn’t have said “go away.” I’ll just keep lurking and being hinky.

  • John Elway splits with Denver Broncos after serving as consultant

NTHockey, bless you. You’re one of the few people who grasp Elway’s seemingly intentional sabotage of Tebow.

Watch Elway scowl with 58 seconds remaining in the Broncos’ win over the Jets. Watch his slow-clap. Elway visited Stanford half a dozen times hoping to draft Andrew Lock. Because Tebow played great and beat the Texans, Elway had only the # 2 pick and had to settle for Vonn Miller instead of Luck.

As a formerly ardent Broncos fan, I watched as Elway was a mixed blessing for many seasons until he finally progressed. His running Tebow out of Denver was unforgivable. Tebow was an extremely efficient NFL QB who was successful under Fox, McCoy, and Gase. Those 3 won HC jobs because of Tebow, and then lost them. Imagine preferring Jimmy Clausen to Tebow! Imagine Jay Cutler starting for some 10 seasons and making the playoffs only once. Most NFL fans have their heads up their u-know-what

Elway went to 5 super bowls, almost 6.

Tebow would have gone to as many, and won more, if Elway hadn’t run him out of Denver. Elway was jealous as Tebow was easily eclipsing Elway’s mediocre stats. Tebow’s first start included a 40+ yard TD run that was longer than Elway’s longest gallops over 16 seasons.

Tebow’s TD to INT ratio was better than 2:1. Utterly untrue that he was inaccurate. He was throwing the ball away because offensive line was terrible in pass blocking. No one has ever been more mistreated by nfl or media than Tebow.

Many people are killed this way, so it might not be just raw ignorance.

Likely, the sound waves on the tracks are counter-intuitive. Young people should be taught not to assume they will hear the train rumbling from miles away.

Hey, what is the name of this website? Too many of you wouldn’t know freedom if it brightened your entire life.

Did any of you even read the article? Or did you just reflexively say to yourself, “People who question 150-year copyrights are dope-smoking libs.”

Copyrights are a unique form of property. If you buy a car, only one person can drive the car at a time. So we have laws to protect your car from conversion by others. Copyrights are a little different, have you noticed? The proper extent of copyright protection is debatable, but why should it be 6x longer than patent protection? Any answers?

You buy some wallpaper, hang it, and then plan to throw a house party. But the artists who sold you the wallpaper didn’t expect you to show it to 25 people all on the same night. You’re cool if they send the marshal to shut down your party?

If you’re in crisis, go to Amazon and buy books by Vernon Howard. They are short and consist thoughts instead of narrative. Some editions are available for the Kindle, and can be read over a web browser.

(Inadvertently I posted this elsewhere, and hopefully re-post will be permitted.) Please, Friends, retire the idea that Tim Tebow should have switched to fullback. He is a massive target who (without threat of pass) has trouble getting to the line of scrimmage, let alone beyond.

Could he play tight end? Probably, if he pursued it with determination. But why should he. He scored 32 touchdowns in 16 NFL starts. You can count on your fingers the guys who’ve done that. (Not Brady; not Manning; all of them high draft picks, carefully groomed, and allowed to throw INT after INT.) Threw for 19 TDs with just 9 picks. (Two of those picks were Hail Marys at the end of the game.) Over 5.5 percent of Tebow’s throws went for TDs, an outstanding ratio. Why not even higher? Because he was (with threat of pass) such a deadly runner in the red zone.

Tebow’s QB play didn’t win any beauty contests, but his play was extremely efficient. Protected the ball. Put to rest the nonsense that the Broncos had a strong defense and carried Tebow. Broncos were 2d WORST team in 2010. Why not WORST? Because Tebow started last game of the 2010 season for “interim” head coach Studesville and beat the Texans (16 of 29 for 308 yards and a TD, plus a TD on the ground.) They were on their way to worst in 2011 when Tebow came in at half-time of Game 5 and helped the team turn itself around. In 2011 season, his receivers Decker and Thomas (also in their second season and returning from injury) dropped 17 and 14 percent of their catchable passes. Bronco defense gave up THIRTY-FIVE points in first half of playoff loss to Patriots. THIRTY-FIVE. Broncos’ defense was helpless and gave up; couldn’t stop Gronk AND Aaron Hernandez. Tebow played with cracked ribs. He was never given another chance to show what he could do (except playing quite well for the Patriots and Eagles in preseason). John Fox without Tebow or Manning is a dumpster fire. See Chicago.

People at Freep have strong minds and should resist the media narrative that this Christian never could play. If you didn’t see him play, try watching NFL Rewind. As a former, avid, 35-year Bronco fan it broke my heart that Elway ran Tebow out of town. I watched Elway’s rookie year, and Tim’s first starts were manifestly better. The NFL strangled its own Babe Ruth in the crib

When Tebow came into the league, the “knock” on him wasn’t that he couldn’t throw accurately, but that his windup was too long and the ball would be stripped by defenses. Tebow threw for 70 percent in college, and nothing was wrong with his accuracy.

Yet bias against him has taken hold, and knuckle-head coaches like John Fox and Rex Ryan have treated him like he’s retarded. Tebow’s deep passes are better than most. Receivers seem to have trouble catching the left-handed spin, but that can be cured with practice. He’s had very little chance to work with the 1st team. All he needs is a chance to get on the field for awhile.

I was an avid Broncos fan for 35 years, and now I detest them. Some things are unforgivable, and running Tebow out of town is one of them.

I’m a Jets fan in waiting, but I’m afraid Sprano and Ryan are too dense to use him properly. If they saw the first iPhone they would have tried to use it as a hammer.

  • Asking for advice about depression after losing my job

Julie, are you getting enough sunlight? I don’t want to over-simply things, but experience has led me to believe access to sunlight is a genuine factor relating to despondence.

You’re up north. When I lived in cloudy Vermont, a mere silver lining was enough to lift my spirit. During a two-year period when I worked at night, I was mildly depressed and it seemed like goblins were hanging from the street lamps. Thus, I bought a full-spectrum light which, honestly, seemed to help. Well worth the money.

These days, I work at home and inside, so access to sunlight is still an issue. I take 2,000 units of vitamin D each day. Please consider these three ideas, because we want you feeling good. Naturally there’s more to life then this, but it’s a start.

Couple of more thoughts: I enjoyed “The Secret” DVD. And it’s good to work to accomplish things, even small things. God bless you.

  • Taking my Cat to the vets tomorrow, just seeking prayers.

God bless you and your friend. How much is your kitty drinking? Excessive consumption of water is a sign if kidney failure. It’s happened with two of my pals. If that is the case, don’t despair. A routine of subcutaneous fluid can keep your cat healthy and happy a long time. Your vet would explain that.

For anyone with this issue, be advised that Amazon sells products called “cat sack” or cat-grooming bag. With my first cat, it was nearly impossible to do the sub-Q fluids, because he was fractious. Same with the second. But once we bought the “cat sack,” things began going smoothly with our second cat. I thank God for this product. Cheer up, and remember to use Google and Youtube, great repositories of good info. Separate the wheat from the chaff.

A final tip, if I may: The doctors tried to put our cats on medicated diet, but it just didn’t appeal to them. They would have starved to death on that diet. Truth is, I’ve been feeding Fancy Feast galore (night and day), and both cats did well this way. (Gained weight.) Vets don’t like it, but it seems like just bias.
