President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has offered his condolences over lives lost in the landslide in the Georgian resort village of Shovi.

“I offer my sincerest condolences to the Georgian people in connection with the natural disaster that claimed people’s lives. We sympathise with the families and friends of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to all those affected by the landslide in the highland region of Racha,” the president tweeted.
The head of state posted tweets in both Ukrainian and Georgian.

There was a landslide near the resort village of Shovi, Georgia, the day before. Power lines were damaged in the region, roads and bridges were destroyed, and communication is unstable.
As of now, 11 deaths are officially known about. Rescue workers and the military continue to search for missing people. 7 August was declared a day of mourning in Georgia.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has heard the report of Vasyl Maliuk, head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), regarding the agency’s special operation in Novorossiysk Bay and the damage to the Russian landing ship Olenegorskiy Gornyak.

BACKGROUND:
Explosions occurred in the Russian city of Novorossiysk on the night of 3-4 August. The Russian Defence Ministry reported an attack by two USVs.
The Security Service of Ukraine conducted a special operation in Novorossiysk Bay, Russia, and a USV damaged the Olenegorskiy Gornyak, a large Russian landing ship.
FOR REFEENCE:
Olenegorskiy Gornyak is a large Russian landing ship built in Polish Gdańsk in 1976. Based in the Northern Fleet, it is part of the 121st brigade of landing ships. In 2007, it was considered the best landing ship of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Federation

The German government on Friday has updated the list of military aid given to Ukraine to help it resist the full-scale Russian invasion.

DETAILS: The updated list indicates that Ukraine received 2 WISENT 1 mine clearing tanks in the last week in addition to the 4 transferred earlier, and 11 mine ploughs for T-72 tanks.
Also among the military aid are five SurveilSPIRE mobile reconnaissance systems (their provision was reported on back in February), three Vector reconnaissance drones, five mobile antenna mast systems and nine vehicles for border protection.
The German government also announced the transfer of two Zuzana 2 self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine as part of a project financed jointly with Denmark and Norway.
In addition, Berlin updated the list of planned assistance.
Among them are 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, six more Bergepanzer 2 armoured recovery and evacuation vehicles, seven mobile, remote-controlled and protected demining complexes, five mobile SurveilSPIRE reconnaissance systems and another 18,000 portable anti-tank missile complexes.
