Two brothers who kept a “human sacrifice” hit list of cops, judges, politicians, celebrities and “banker scum” were nabbed with an arsenal of homemade bombs and ghost guns in their family’s Queens apartment, prosecutors said Monday. Wannabe anarchists Andrew Hatziagelis, 39, and his 51-year-old brother, Angelo, were hit with a 130-count indictment after cops and federal agents seized a cache of weapons that included “improvised” explosive devices, body armor and a collection of AR-15-style and 9mm ghost guns. The pair also allegedly scribbled “hit list” on a scrap of notebook paper that included a list of potential targets that also...

Under Schumer’s measure, those who aren’t law enforcement would need to get a green light from the FBI to get body armor– and show a reason why they need it. (Photo: Chris Eger/Guns.com)Legislation promised in the U.S. Senate would make the legal sale of body armor a “may issue” process signed off on by federal law enforcement. U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY, announced his legislation on Sunday to require FBI permission before anyone except law enforcement could buy what he termed “sophisticated body armor,” setting a bar that would require a clear purpose, such as an occupational requirement, for the...

The Senate’s top Democrat says he’s introducing legislation to require the FBI to regulate the sale of body armor in the U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer said Sunday that the legislation would require the bureau to set standards on who would be eligible to purchase bullet-resistant vests and other body armor. The New York senator says there would be exceptions for law enforcement and other public safety professionals. …

U.S. Army equipment experts plan to test lighter-weight, individual body armor plates by this summer, according to a recently released Defense Department test and evaluation report. The Army's multi-component Soldier Protection System body armor features hard-armor plates designed to stop rifle rounds. They’re known as the Vital Torso Protection component of the system.

It’s bright orange, it’s squishy, it stretches like taffy — and it is unlike any body armor you’ve ever seen. If you were attacked with a baseball bat and you were wearing this bright orange goop under your clothes, then your attacker might as well have swung a toothpick at you — the goop will take the hit for you and absorb the strike. D3O concocted this remarkable, soft, stretchy, flexible, orange material that absorbs shock. Incorporated into their TRUST line of armor, there is a wide range available from helmets, chest, back and knuckle armor through to elbow, knee...

As women enter ground combat fields in larger numbers, the military services are working harder to make gender-specific accommodations for their gear — even down to tweaking protective equipment to fit around longer hair. According to presentations prepared by the Army and the Marine Corps for the Pentagon’s Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services, both services are making independent changes to ensure gear fits correctly for women with hair buns. A presentation prepared by Army Lt. Col. Ginger L. Whitehead, product manager for Soldier Protective Equipment, shows a recently introduced version of the Female Improved Outer Tactical Vest,...

A Texas sheriff refused to sign a letter agreeing to hold arrested illegal immigrants for ICE. Austin, TX – Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputies lost the opportunity to receive lifesaving ballistic vests, after the department’s sheriff decided it was more important to shield illegal immigrants from federal agents. The vests were made available through a unanimously approved state Senate bill in 2017, which allocated $25 million to help Texas law enforcement agencies to purchase the gear for their officers in the wake of the July 7, 2016 police ambush in Dallas that left five officers dead, KXAN reported. In...

I took this as a threat, as did many others on Twitter. Reported to Secret Service, FBI, DOJ etc. Not sure how to post properly (after all these years) but here goes "Seems like those “unnamed sources peddling second-hand hearsay with rank speculation that continue to leak inaccurate information,” came straight from 1600 Penn. Jared better start wearing his kevlar on his back."

IAMOND-HARD ARMOR The media tends to depict bullet-proof armor as something that’s thick and heavier than regular clothes. Despite being for bodily protection, the added bulk of that armor might restrict a person’s movements. But scientists at the City University of New York’s Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) have found that diamond-hard armor doesn’t need to be thick. The key to less-bulky protection is graphene, a tightly-packed layer of bonded carbon atoms one million times thinner than a piece of paper. The researchers discovered that two layers of graphene stacked on top of one another can temporarily become as hard...

A wonder material as flexible as tinfoil but hard enough to stop a speeding bullet has been created in the lab. Diamene is made using two layers of graphene, the world's first two-dimensional material which is just one atom thick, a million times thinner than human hair. Such a substance could be used for anything from water-resistant protective coatings to ultra-light bulletproof armour.

This homemade armor actually works! Demolition Ranch has tested all sorts of stuff to see how well it would hold up as makeshift body armor with mixed results in the past. But now, a viewer (Andy) has sent him a simple piece of homemade armor, (1/4 inch un-harden steel glued to a horstall mat) and surprisingly enough, it holds up really well. And that’s saying something considering the damage Matt is known for dishing out! Matt of Demolition Ranch uses these calibers: .229mm.45ACP.50AE12 Gauge Who would have thought something as simple as a horse stall mat, flex seal and a...

Will the military grade ballistic plate stop these rounds? Watch as Jerry Miculek pits an AR-10 .30 cal against body armor with some high-volume rapid fire. Jerry is trying to duplicate what Richard Ryan of Full Mag did, and that is he fired a .30 cal machine gun at a piece of armor. Jerry will be using the same cal with an AR-10 with the standard NATO 7.62 ball 147 grain rounds. There it is, the plates were able to absorb the hits against it, round after round. There is a reason modern light infantry and combat soldiers wear integrated...

Putting females into those positions may give some a warm and fuzzy feeling, but it's a recipe for mission failure and the needless deaths of good men and women. And that's far too high a price to pay to make anyone feel good The highly emotional debate over whether women should be allowed in combat positions in the U.S. military is back. The latest firefight was prompted when the only female officer enrolled in the Marine Corps’ Infantry Officer Course dropped out after failing to complete two conditioning hikes, according to Corps’ Training and Education Command. As a result, “There...

Civilian Access to Body Armor Stirs Debate Officials worry about bulletproof equipment ending up in criminals’ hands; shooting in Orlando highlights issue By Ben Kesling June 17, 2016 5:30 a.m. ET Weeks before Omar Mateen went on an Orlando shooting spree, he stopped at a gun shop trying to buy body armor capable of stopping police handgun rounds. The store didn’t carry such armor. Had Mateen just gone online, he could have easily gotten armor capable of stopping not only handgun fire, but bullets from SWAT team snipers or even armor-piercing rifle ammunition—shipped right to his door with few questions...

Richard Davis, in short sleeves, at the Shot Show, Las Vegas, 2015 At the Shot Show this year, I was working away in the media room. Media are given a room and special access at the Shot Show, as they are most places. A guard at the door insures that only the privileged are allowed inside. (The management also provides free food.) I was chatting with Destinee of FateofDestinee fame when I got the call. Richard Davis was at the shot Show and willing to talk! Richard Davis is legendary to gun culture people born before 1960. He has...
