Judge denies Jan. 6 rioter’s bid to attend Trump inauguration

A U.S. District Judge denied a Jan. 6 rioter’s request to attend President-elect Trump’s inauguration later this month, citing concerns over the Capitol insurrection which incited hours of chaos and violence in the nation’s capital.

Russell Taylor, who is on probation after pleading guilty to obstructing an official proceeding, petitioned the court for permission to travel outside of the Central District of California to attend the ceremony for President-elect Trump after receiving an invitation from lawmakers.

Judge Royce Lamberth denied the request in a Friday court order, reflecting on the event that took place after the 2020 presidential election.

“Mr. Taylor brought a knife and plate carrier vest to the Capitol and carried a backpack containing a hatchet and stun baton,” Lamberth noted in the order.

“During the Riots, Mr. Taylor pushed past police barricades, encouraged fellow rioters to push against a police line where officers were being visibly assaulted, joined the push himself, and repeatedly threatened the police protecting the Upper West Terrace that it was their ‘[l]ast chance’ to ‘stand down’ and abandon their position,” the judge wrote.

Although Taylor did not injure on duty officers, Lamberth said the effort to incite a riot warranted grave concerns for his attendance at future political events of prominence.

“While he did not personally assault law enforcement officers, he did threaten them and encourage other rioters who were actively assaulting them,” Lamberth stated. “He also contributed meaningfully to the sheer danger of the day’s events by arriving armed and armored.”

“And although Mr. Taylor’s rhetoric on the day of the Capitol Riots is interspersed with pro-America motifs and allusions, his unlawful conduct and his later espousal of ‘insurrection’ belie any patriotic motives he may have professed that day,” he added.

This man should be pardoned at 12:01 pm Jan 20th and immediately invited to the inauguration and subsequent parties and be allowed to slam the judge.

Either invited them for the afternoon or morning of 21st. That’s after he issues the pardon in the morning.

Almost all, but not all, should be pardoned. If that fact app term is correct, I’d commute the sentence but not pardoned.

Pardon all of them. They were all punished way beyond anything that’s normal.

“Every Jan6er should be pardoned no exceptions”

If they are affiliated with Antifa or other instigating factions unaligned with President Trump, they ought not to be granted a pardon.

I think we will see President Trump himself invite this man for a personal visit to the White House and probably pay for his flight.

I can’t see anything in Washington DC worth saving at this point. I would like to see it flooded by the Potomac River and be completely unlivable by future humans.

Washington DC is no longer of any useful value to decent American people. It is a den of iniquity. It is a bastion of filthy corruption and organized crime. There is no justice to be found there.

What about Pelosi’s boy, Ray Epps and all of his cronies with bull horns encouraging protestera to storm the Capitol Bldg? I read on the internet that Epps got a few months probation but his followers were not charged; will they be allowed to attend? Maybe Nanc slipped their crimes off the table.

WoW. The horror - I didn't know it was that bad.

Far worse than BLM and anti-fa that DID physically attack and injure cops, threw bricks a them, had weapons and burned American cities, including police stations, to the ground for 100 days in a row.

How many of them were ever thrown in prison?

“Mr. Taylor brought a knife and plate carrier vest to the Capitol and carried a backpack containing a hatchet and stun baton,” Lamberth noted in the order.

IF this is true and the guy had these items and did these things...

“During the Riots, Mr. Taylor pushed past police barricades, encouraged fellow rioters to push against a police line where officers were being visibly assaulted, joined the push himself, and repeatedly threatened the police protecting the Upper West Terrace that it was their ‘[l]ast chance’ to ‘stand down’ and abandon their position,” the judge wrote.

...Then he should be locked up and not be out on probation and definitely shouldn’t be invited to DC by anyone. So why is he out on probation?

Mr. Taylor brought a knife and plate carrier vest to the Capitol and carried a backpack containing a hatchet and stun baton

And a capitol police officer shot a defenseless women in the throat killed her and then got a promotion for his good work
Those who protect and support this should be held just a responsible

Why should he be pardoned, he fits the bill of an agent provocateur. Which is probably why he is out and not still locked up. There are people who didn’t bring weapons or threaten or encourage others to break past police lines who are still jailed in Pelosi’s gulag.
