The FBI this week raided a Homer, Alaska couple’s home looking for Nancy Pelosi’s laptop. 12 agents broke down the Hueper’s front door with their guns drawn, separated the husband and wife, cuffed them, seized their electronics and interrogated them for 3 hours. Advertisement - story continues below After a 3 hour interrogation, it turned out it was a case of mistaken identity. The Hueper’s just happened to be on vacation in DC the same week Trump spoke at the Ellipse on January 6 and decided to attend the rally, however they never entered the Capitol building. Marilyn Hueper said...

I am in the area being affected by Hurricane Delta. The Police/Sheriff/Fire/State Police are very active now to prevent the loss of life. My local ABC TV station is not broadcasting the NBA finals game tonight. They are broadcasting updates on Hurricane Delta. One of the stations this ABC TV station has is broadcasting the game - the CW station. BLUE LIVES keeps the public safe. At FreeRepublic I am preaching to the choir...

An NAACP chapter president said there is "no such thing as Blue Lives" on Twitter on Sunday following what appeared to be an ambush-style shooting of two sheriff's deputies in Los Angeles on Saturday. "There’s no such thing as BLUE LIVES... Stop comparing your JOB with my LIFE... Your CAREER is a choice, my BLACKNESS isn’t. #BlackLivesMatter #BlueLivesMatter," NAACP Greater Springfield President Talbert Swan wrote on Twitter. "No one deserves to be unjustly murdered, police or citizens," Swan continued. "If you’re expressing outrage over the shooting of two sheriff’s deputies, but we’re defending #KyleRittenhouse murdering two protesters in #Kenosha only...

By this point, we’ve sadly grown used to stories about some motorist who finds themself trapped in the middle of a street that’s been shut down by a Black Lives Matter protest. When rioters begin to menace them, the frightened driver punches the gas and begins knocking down or running over demonstrators in an effort to flee for their lives. A similar – and yet very different – scene played out this weekend in the tiny town of Eaton, Colorado (population 4,365), located well to the north of Denver. But the details of the vehicular assault mark it as an...

As conservatives, we pride ourselves on our unwavering support of the Thin Blue Line, on backing our cops against leftist slander, and yet stupid and evil people in law enforcement are putting that default thumbs-up from normal Americans at risk. It’s bad enough when we watch the ridiculous spectacle of Deputy Karren and Deputy Man-Karen yelling at some mom for committing felony play-dating, but then we see how the FBI has flat-out framed political enemies and it’s too much. If the LEO community does not police its own ranks and stamp out this nonsense, it might as well take all...

The most important statement in the Justice Department’s damning report on the Chicago Police Department has nothing to do with police behavior. Released on Friday, the report found the Chicago police guilty of a “pattern or practice” of unconstitutional force. But it turns out that the Justice Department has no standard for what constitutes a “pattern or practice” (the phrase comes from a 1994 federal statute) of unconstitutional police conduct. “Statistical evidence is not required” for a “pattern or practice” finding, the DOJ lawyers announce, citing unrelated court precedent. Nor is there “a specific number of incidents” required to constitute...

Not everyone can stomach the fight against the increasingly bold and disturbingly un-fact- checked progressive narrative about police racism. Truth doesn’t matter, but if your job does, and you’re in law-enforcement, you better tow the line and jump on board the apology train. When Terrence Cunningham on behalf of the International Association of Chiefs of Police apologized for historic mistreatment of minorities by police, his comments first appearing in the Washington Post, he was just another victim who couldn’t stomach fighting the tide of lies that have consumed the media for the past year. In fact, race began to play...

Healing After Dallas, Without Obama When the president repeatedly assumes the worst about police, he sends a dangerous message. By Jason L. Riley July 11, 2016 7:06 p.m. ET President Obama is scheduled to speak in Dallas Tuesday at a memorial service for the five police officers gunned down last week—but haven’t we already heard enough from him? Mr. Obama’s initial response to the shootings was more of the same: equivocation mixed with an attempt to change the subject. He said there is no possible justification for violence against law enforcement, but then added a line about racial disparities in...

Photo:Joe Songer/jsonger@al.com When U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch met with a group of Birmingham youth during her visit to Alabama today and asked them why it's difficult for the general public to empathize with police officers, 16-year-old Ramsay High School student Taylor Sellers gave it to her straight. "It starts in your household. When you come up, you automatically hate the police, I'm just going to tell you like it is,'' Sellers said. "Most likely somebody in your family went to jail, so they're like, "Man he went to jail for no reason,' so you already have this mindset that...
