A Minneapolis landlord says he was attempting to have multiple stolen vehicles towed from a lot behind his property when a group of individuals attacked him. Dale Howey manages 11 properties throughout the Twin Cities, and says last week, residents at the Green Rock Apartments, located at 2440 Harriet Avenue in Minneapolis, reported cars illegally parked in the back lot. WILTON MANORS, Fla. – At least 2 children were killed and three others were injured after the driver of a vehicle mowed them down in Wilton Manors Monday afternoon, officials said. The crash occurred in the 2400 block of Northwest Ninth Avenue in Broward County. Fort Lauderdale Battalion Chief Stephen Gollan told WPLG in addition to the 2 fatalities, three other kids were taken to Broward Health Medical Center — with one child listed as critical and the others in stable condition. Residents were being asked to avoid the area as police conducted an investigation.

A 31-year-old male surfer was killed in a shark attack in California on Friday. Eric Endersby, the harbor director for the city of Morro Bay, confirmed to The Hill on Saturday that the man, whose identity has not been released, was located by officials at 10:48 a.m. Pacific time off of the Morro Bay State Park beach, which is just north of Morro Rock. Michael Fanone, a 41-year-old D.C. police officer who was dragged into a crowd and beaten on Jan. 6, announced his resignation from the police force on Monday. Kim Taylor, 73, a retired nurse, was alone in a pen at Cultivate Care Farms feeding livestock when a sheep repeatedly rammed her. Police and medical workers responded shortly after 9 a.m. Taylor, who went into cardiac arrest, was rushed to UMass Memorial Marlborough Hospital where she was pronounced dead. A military outpost in southern Syria was hit by a coordinated attack on Wednesday, but a U.S. official said no American troops stationed there were injured or killed.
