On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said the U.S. is “relying upon the Taliban to help us prevent an attack by ISIS on the United States.” Because of the inability to conduct legitimate over-the-horizon counterterrorism, and “We’re relying on a terrorist organization to police two terrorist groups.”

You do realize that for the past 20 odd years we've been shooting and bombing the Taliban? They are not our friends, never have been. They helped back Al Qaeda, the group responsible for the 9/11 attacks on us that precipitated our 20 year war with them.

But we still needed to leave, and that meant leaving the Taliban in charge. I’m not sure what these forever war Republicans suggest as an alternative.

I expect ISIS to keep moving to further establish its power base in Afghanistan and ultimately start attacking the ChiComs and Taliban alike.
