A 31-year-old male surfer was killed in a shark attack in California on Friday.
Eric Endersby, the harbor director for the city of Morro Bay, confirmed to The Hill on Saturday that the man, whose identity has not been released, was located by officials at 10:48 a.m. Pacific time off of the Morro Bay State Park beach, which is just north of Morro Rock. The park is located north of Santa Barbara.

Yup.... The ocean is awesome to look at... Swimming or surfing in it can lead to three outcomes and only 1 of those is good. Drowning, getting eaten by something from the sea, or surviving for another day.
Your odds are better if you just stay on the beach. This shark got itself an early Christmas present though... A nice warm meal.

To be consistent, the Fourth Reich leftist global socialist would celebrate the death human reduction, but they would be horrified if the shark caught COVID-19 from its human meal !

I’ve been fortunate enough to see them while snorkling and many times from boats. Even caught a baby leopard shark once (which was beautiful and we safely unhooked and released - dodging its teeth). I’ve always just been fascinated rather than scared... but it’s sunken wrecks that absolutely terrify me and freak me out! Not sure where that fear of wrecks even comes from.

That’s terrible. I’m fairly sure that when he was dying, he wasn’t thinking, “At least I’m dying doing what I love”.
I took a date to Jaws (summer 75?). Stupid movie. They had guns. First time it surfaced by the boat they should have been giving it lead poisoning.
Soda pop made my date laugh. During the scary parts of the movie, people were shrieking, and she was laughing. Nice girl, but one date was sufficient. Not my type.
This landlubber from the cornbelt doesn’t like being at a serious disadvantage when around wild animals. If a shark wanders onto some beach I might happen to be on, then I’ll gladly kick sand in his face.
This just isn’t good. Becoming fish bait on Christmas Eve is not the way I wish to go. I imagine this man experienced terror before he died. Prayers to his family and friends.
