A scantily clad, 32-year-old man was found dead early Monday in a pool of blood in an owl cage at the Moscow Zoo. A bird keeper at the zoo found the man, Alexander Luparev at about 10 a.m., lying in the cage, which is home to a Siberina long-tailed tawny owl. Three men are safe after their raft capsized on the Normanskill Creek overnight. The 20-year-old men tried to ride the dangerous waves on an inflatable mattress. One them got out of the water around 3 a.m. and called for help. After a two-hour search by rescue crews in Bethlehem and Albany, the other men were found. They had managed to get out of the water on their own. They were located near the Graceland Cemetery. GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Authorities said a trucker who transported a tiger to a county fair in Florida was treated at a hospital after the animal bit his arm. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said 25-year-old Jason Hardin of Westville apparently stuck his arm into the tiger's cage early Sunday morning. Hardin's sister said her brother was drunk at the time of the incident. A spokeswoman for the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said Hardin was treated for severed tendons. Officials said the incident was strictly human error. Florida Wildlife officials inspected the exhibit and have ruled it to be safe.
