As part of his effort to bring awareness to the vast network of Chinese slave labor camps, Enes Kanter has again addressed Nike Owner Phil Knight asking him to stop using Chinese slave labor to make Nike’s products. In a Tuesday tweet, Kanter wrote, “How about I book plane tickets for us and let’s fly to China together. We can try to visit these SLAVE labor camps, and you can see it with your own eyes.” He also invited LeBron James and Michael Jordan along on the trip.

Black Friday has been over for months, but you would never know it if you went to Eastland Center in Harper Woods on Saturday morning. The mall was forced to close after rowdy crowds piled in for a chance to buy the newly-released Air Jordan Retro 12 “Vivid Pink” sneakers.

CINCINNATI — Police were studying mall surveillance video Tuesday in their investigation of the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old Ohio boy authorities say tried to rob a shopper in his quest to obtain popular, limited-edition athletic shoes. Miami Township police said a man with a concealed weapon permit fired his gun after he and another man were accosted Saturday morning by three teens on a sidewalk outside the Dayton Mall. Police said one teen had showed a gun. Jawaad Jabbar of Middletown died a short time later of a gunshot wound to his torso, authorities said.

HOUSTON - Local activists and ministers are taking on one of the world's top sports brands. They're calling on Nike and Michael Jordan to change the way they sell the highly sought after Air Jordan sneakers. This comes after the frenzy over the limited release last week turned violent in some cities. Now, community leaders say the people at the top should take some responsibility. Mob style scuffles nearly turned into riots over the $200 Air Jordans. It's hard to explain the shopping madness that had some customers running to malls. "I've never seen anybody be killed or jumped over...

Nothing, apparently, gets between a man and his Air Jordans. In the latest episode of retail gone horribly awry, crowds of unruly shoppers across the country fought among themselves, scuffled with police, upended Christmas decorations and broke down doors leading up to today’s release of the most recent Michael Jordan-inspired basketball shoe. The unrest stretched from suburban Seattle to Jersey City, where a man was stabbed seven times as he waited in line to buy the $180 sneakers at the Newport Centre Mall, police said. The victim, set upon by several teenagers, was recovering at Jersey City Medical Center.

Police have been sent to a Houston-area mall after some of the hundreds of shoppers apparently became unruly while they waited outside to buy new Nike Air Jordan shoes, officials said today. The police were dispatched to Deerbrook Mall in the 20000 block of U.S. 59 in Humble about 6 a.m. Shoppers had lined up before dawn to buy the new-model shoes named for former basketball star Michael Jordan, officials said. Some of them appeared to be unruly. Also today, Houston police were called to a disturbance as Air Jordans went on sale at the Northline Mall. More than 500...

Noted Chicagoan and basketballophile Barack Obama appears to be writing off the California vote in 2012, at least the basketball fans around Los Angeles. In a pre-holiday interview with the Associated Press, Obama was asked who was the better player -- six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan or four-time champion Kobe Bryant? Without even a moment's hesitation, the ex-senator from Illinois blurted out, "Oh, Michael!" Then, apparently realizing what he'd just said and the profound impact on any 2012 election, the new president hastened to add: "I mean, Kobe's terrific. Don't get me wrong. But I haven't seen anybody match up...
