A "shameful" abstention by the U.S. in a United Nations Security Council vote Friday allowed passage of a resolution condemning Israeli settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank. The resolution was put forward by New Zealand, Malaysia, Venezuela and Senegal after Egypt withdrew it Thursday under pressure from Israel and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. It was adopted with 14 votes in favor, to a round of applause, after U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power abstained. It is the first resolution the Security Council has adopted on Israel and the Palestinians in nearly eight years. Reaction from U.S. Republicans and Jewish leaders around...

"To cast a vote for Trump is to agree with his sexist, perverted, demeaning, backwards, offensive treatment of women," the website declares. Its motto is "Those Who Vote Trump Should Understand This: No Sex. No Dates. No Chance." In a statement to PJ Media,...

Our Friends Germany, France and Mexico abstained in the UN security councel on a vote to send Peace keepers to Liberia. They cite the US refusal to join the world court. They don't like the fact that if we go in, no US person could be subjected to the socialist dominated world court. Well, I hope that we never join this silly body. Since it is mainly US forces that fight and give their lives in all regions of the world, wouldn't it stand to reason that the majority of defendants would be American? The pacifist Germans, Mexicans and Frogs...

Said White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer 'Ultimately, we will see what the French decide to do. They have have their position known at this point. But as the President engages in consultations, as the President presents the facts and the President listens, the President will also lead.'He rejected comments by a key United States defense advisor, Richard Perle, who reportedly said France was not the ally it once was. Perle is the head of the Defense Department Policy Review Board, which has an advisory but not a policy making role in the Administration.'President Bush knows that France is and will...
