Here’s what we know about how Carlos Allen, the latest White House party crasher, wound up at Barack Obama’s first state dinner: Five days before the event, Allen told a friend that he’d received an invitation from the White House to dine with the prime minister of India. In retrospect, it was an odd claim. Allen wasn’t famous, a big political donor, or Indian. He wasn’t even, it seemed, fully employed. Yet he gave no hint that he was surprised to have been invited. Nor was Allen’s friend surprised to hear it. Allen, she later said, seemed like the kind...

Craig supervised Alex van der Zwaan, who has pleaded guilty to lying about communications regarding his work for Ukrainian politicians. Former Obama White House counsel Gregory Craig has left his law firm, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, the firm told NBC News. His departure comes after he and his law firm became caught up in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Alex van der Zwaan, who had been a lawyer in Skadden's London office, pleaded guilty to lying to prosecutors and the FBI about communications involving work the firm had been...

Honduras Weekly published an article, Mel the Grateful, about Manuel Zelaya's inability to show appreciation to Porfirio Lobo for his efforts on Zelaya's behalf. Zelaya did later rectify that to a very small extent, but insisting that his departure from Honduras disrupt Lobo's inauguration day celebrations shows that Mel still believes that the world should revolve around him. Lobo showed graciousness, and I would even say bravery, in accompanying Zelaya to the airport. Based on past experience with Zelaya and his followers, anything could have happened. On the other hand, Lobo also has shown a lack of gratefulness. One very...

One can easily understand and even empathize with Manuel Zelaya for being angry, resentful, and vengeful toward interim president Roberto Micheletti, Gen. Romeo Vásquez Velásquez, the Supreme Court, the Congress, Cardinal Óscar Rodríguez, and business leaders in Honduras, given that they all either played a role in his overthrow or failed to support his efforts to return to power. It's much harder to make a good case, however, for why Mr. Zelaya would have overly hard feelings toward President-elect Porfirio Lobo. After all, it was Mr. Lobo who signed the agreement with Dominican President Leonel Fernández to grant safe passage...

U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts offered rare public criticism of the President of the United States on Wednesday when he pushed back against President Trump’s claim Tuesday that an “Obama judge” had blocked his effort to deny asylum to those entering the country illegally. But as outgoing Senate Judiciary Committee chair Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) later noted, Roberts was silent when President Barack Obama attacked the Court during the State of the Union address in 2010: Chief Justice Roberts rebuked Trump for a comment he made abt judge’s decision on asylum I don’t recall the Chief attacking Obama...

From the Investigative Project on Terrorism:Previously on the IPT blog we stressed the need for the Defense Department's Islamic Chaplaincy program to adopt a stricter vetting process, citing historically radical imams who have served in the program. Now the same can be said for the chaplaincy program for the Illinois State Police. The Mosque Foundation website reports that Sheikh Kifah Mustapha recently completed a four day training session in Springfield, Illinois to become the first certified Muslim chaplain for the Illinois State Police. Mustapha's name appears on a list of unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) Hamas financing...

It has been revealed that millions of New Zealand taxpayer dollars have been donated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) to Hillary Clinton’s charity, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), a non-profit organisation created from the Clinton Foundation with the stated goal to reduce HIV/AIDs in Africa. An MFAT spokesman confirmed to the NBR that between January 2010 and June 2016, $7.7 million of taxpayer funds had already been donated and another $6 million was to follow, keeping to a pledge to donate $13.7 million made by the government organisation in 2013.

(LEAD) N. Korea threatens to apply 'wartime laws' on detained U.S. national By Sam Kim SEOUL, June 24 (Yonhap) -- North Korea threatened Thursday to apply "wartime laws" on a U.S. national it is holding, citing what it called U.S. hostilities against the communist country over the sinking of a South Korean warship. Earlier this year, a North Korean court sentenced Aijalon Gomes, a 30-year-old American, to eight years in a labor camp for illegal entry on Jan. 25. The communist state's official Korean Central News Agency said its authorities are considering additional measures against Gomes "from the perspective of...

US spy agencies evaluate that Iran has accelerated its research into creating a nuclear weapon but has yet to restart its program in full, Reuters quoted US officials as saying on Wednesday. The new estimate comes as the American intelligence community is putting the finishing touches on a revised National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) that was published near the end of the George W. Bush administration and that was out of line with European countries' estimates, as well as Israel's. Back in 2007, the NIE assessed that Iran had put its atomic bomb program on hold since 2003. Israel immediately rejected...

*snip* The little-known Haiti Development Fund, an LLC incorporated in Delaware in August 2010, was created by the Clinton Foundation with an initial endowment of $20 million from shady Canadian mining mogul Frank Giustra and Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim. The Fund was supposed to supply desperately needed seed money to Haitian entrepreneurs after an earthquake devastated the country in January 2010. *snip* “This cries out for an audit or an investigation,” said Ken Boehm, chairman of the National Legal and Policy Center a Virginia-based watchdog group. “Its director was in bankruptcy and there’s almost nothing in the public record showing...

It could be said that the U.S. government can run by remote control. On the day that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab attempted to blow up a Northwest airline flight headed for Detroit, several key government players were on holiday and didn't immediately return to their posts in Washington, D.C. President Obama was on vacation in Hawaii, golfing and enjoying time with his family. He returned to the White House on Jan. 4. A source told CBS News that Leon Panetta, director of the CIA, was on holiday in Monterey, Calif. when Abdulmutallab was apprehended, and didn't return to CIA headquarters in...

Well, it's official now: John Kiriakou, the former CIA operative who affirmed claims that waterboarding quickly unloosed the tongues of hard-core terrorists, says he didn't know what he was talking about. Kiriakou, a 15-year veteran of the agency's intelligence analysis and operations directorates, electrified the hand-wringing national debate over torture in December 2007 when he told ABC's Brian Ross and Richard Esposito in a much ballyhooed, exclusive interview that senior al Qaeda commando Abu Zubaydah cracked after only one application of the face cloth and water.... Now comes John Kiriakou, again, with a wholly different story. On the next-to-last page...

""Judicial Watch: New Huma Abedin Emails Reveal Additional Instances of Clinton Sending and Receiving Classified Emails Through Unsecure Server""" (Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released 894 pages of new State Department documents, including previously unreleased email exchanges in which former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was sent additional classified information through her unsecure clintonmail.com email account by top aide Huma Abedin. The Abedin emails also include repeated instances of Clinton’s detailed daily schedules being sent to top Clinton Foundation officials at unsecured email addresses. The records were produced for Judicial Watch by the State Department from the non-state.gov email...

Late last week, after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton informed the White House of the likely fall-out from the WikiLeaks cable dump, the White House came back with a question: "What's our corrective action?" Clinton's undersecretary for management, Patrick Kennedy, had a simple suggestion: pull the plug on SIPRNet, the classified DoD network that PFC Bradley Manning reportedly used to download the cables from State's inhouse classified database. "The White House said do it," says a senior administration official. The publication by WikiLeaks of more than 250,000 diplomatic cables, many of them classified, is forcing an administration-wide intelligence retrenchment as...

NAACP: Obama Energized 'Taliban Wing' of GOP In a speech Wednesday, NAACP Chairman Julian Bond called on defenders of civil rights to support the country's first black president as he faces what is expected to be tough second year in office. Bond's remarks at Radford University's fourth annual celebration of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday came a day after the Democratic Party lost the late Ted Kennedy's Massachusetts Senate seat to Republican Scott Brown, and with it, the party's filibuster-proof majority. The election puts Obama's health care overhaul in jeopardy and has caused speculation that public opinion may be...

Oh the shame of it all. Last month, 1,300 pro-Palestinian activists from the US and Europe came to the region in the name of peace and social justice to demonstrate their solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza. Led by the self-declared feminist, antiwar group Code Pink, the demonstrators' plan was to enter Gaza from the Egyptian border at Rafah and deliver "humanitarian aid" to the Hamas terrorist organization. But it was not to be. Led by Code Pink founder and California Democratic fund-raiser Jodie Evans, the demonstrators were not welcomed by Egyptian authorities. Many were surrounded by riot police and...

While the media is busy focusing on the troubling story of the two American soldiers detained at Guantanamo Bay for alleged espionage, both of whom had Syrian connections, another Syria story has passed them by. The names of Ahmad al Halabi, an American of Syrian descent, and Captain James Yee, a convert to Islam who spent four years in Damascus before returning to active service, are now well known. But the name of Nizar Nayouf, a Syrian journalist and human rights activist that was detained last week by French police in Paris, will most probably stay anonymous. Nayouf?s only...

Proving conclusively they're as politically tone deaf as they are inept, the Obama administration today paved the way for an Islamist 'scholar' with deep ties to terrorism and a thirst for the extinction of Israel to re-enter the United States. The breathtaking arrogance of these people beyond is beyond belief. I guess they weren't paying attention last night when Scott Brown stressed the importance of the war on terror. The State Department has cleared the way for two prominent but controversial scholars to return to the United States. State Department spokesman Darby Holladay said Wednesday that Secretary of State Hillary...
